Hi everyone!

I received an email recently regarding an appointee tour with three possible dates for March-April. However, my email didn't say much - it just gave me a "yes" or "no" to click. I'm afraid clicking anything will sign me up instead of leading me to a page with more information. Does anyone have any experience with the tour that they would be willing to share? I would be driving there (9 hours), and it would force me to skip a couple days of school since it's on a Wednesday.

In other words, I'm asking if this particular tour is any different than the regular tours that are offered?

09:00-10:30 Appointees shadow a cadet/Parents led on walking tour of Cadet area
10:30-12:15 Appointees tour cadet area and lunch with cadet/Parents released (free time)
12:30-2:30 Briefings for appointees & parents
2:30-3:30 Tour Athletic facilities
3:30-4:00 Final questions/Day tour complete
This is the schedule for the tour. It also says it's different from the regular tour and will have more detailed briefings regarding academics, BCT, etc. I signed up for the March one, so I'm hoping to have a new experience than my first tour.

"Appointee tours are only for individuals who have been offered an appointment to attend the Air Force Academy and their families. The tours start at 8:00 a.m. and will conclude at approximately 4:00 p.m. the same day. We require reservations at least 7 days in advance of the day you would like to visit our campus. The Appointee Tour Dates are: 21 March 2017, 5 April 2017, and 19 April 2017. The Appointee (and any guests) will be asked to select a date at the time of registration.

The Appointee Tour is very different from the tour given to students interested in attending the academy. It includes detailed briefings about academics, character & leadership, Airmanship programs, Basic Cadet Training (BCT), and athletics, as well as a tour of the athletic facilities. Additionally, the appointee will shadow a current cadet during a portion of the academic day to experience cadet life.

Touring campus is a physically strenuous activity that includes walking long distances. Dress is business casual and comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Campus access: The Academy is open to visitors between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. daily."

When or how you get the email for the Appointees Tour. DS would like to go to the Acadamy to take a closer look. The only date that works for us is 4/5/2017, since the last date to accept the appointment is 4/15/2017.

I actually called admissions about it this afternoon and was told that they are sending the email out tomorrow.
 
we are in the same boat - DS got call March 8; portal updated March 16; have not received tour email yet.
I had to book flights so DS called admissions and got a 'soft' answer for the April 5 date.
Not such great timing with travel to CO involved and April 15 deadline looming.
 
Me too. I called them up two days ago to ask and I requested the 19th. I don't want to click "no" but I'm not sure what to do.
 
My son received the email as well. Looking at the "yes' and "no" links, I was able to see the website where details are located. If you have the link, copy it into a browser and remove the characters after the last "/".
 
I am looking at the dates for the appointee tours. Will the people that have not heard back from the Academy have a chance to participate in these if accepted? Meaning will we most likely know before April 19th which is the last one? Thanks.
 
Dancing Falcon...where did you receive an email with the invitation? Was it to your email account or to you admissions page?

Mine was to my email account. I received the first email with the March date at 1500 and the correction at 1515. It came right into my inbox too.
 
Just made the reservation for the tour on 5 of April. DS got the email. Making flight, hotel, and a rental car now.
