Appointment After Rejection

On April 15th, I received a TWE from USAFA. No waitlist, nothing. This afternoon, I was invited to a zoom call with my congressman's office and informed that the person ahead of me backed out, and that I would be receiving an appointment to take their place. My portal isn't updated, but they said I should be getting a letter on May 3rd. I've kept hearing that it isn't over until you get a TWE; apparently it isn't even over then. Can't wait to join everyone in June.

That's awesome to hear! Normally, USAFA gives the congressmen a few days before updating the portal. Best of luck to you!

This makes me smile! It truly ain't over, till it's over and then it ain't over either. (Maybe there are miracles ahead for my son's two TWEs.) Good luck to you at USAFA!

This exact same thing happened to my son two years ago. I told him he hit the lottery so make the most out of it. This June he will be greeting the fine doolies for BCT. Can probably find my post from couple years ago, it makes me cry when I think of it. Found out during graduation morning.

Congratulations! I was in a similar situation more than 25 years ago with USMA (obviously without Zoom or virtual). Knowing that I was fortunate to get in, I never took my experience for granted and made the most of it.
