Appointment Offered!!

First off, CONGRATS FALCONGIRL for a job well done! :w00t: Well deserved!

And to LPG, after reading your post, I found myself rushing away from my monitor and right out the front door, looking for a set of yellow footprints to stand on somewhere hidden in my driveway, trembling in fear because I couldn't find them. Got to go change my shorts now....:shake:

Thank you again for all the congratulations and encouragement! I am still psyched to accept my appointment when it arrives via snail mail. I actually just got off the phone with my ALO. Today, he called the AFA to confirm that I do indeed have an appointment. They told him that I do, and that only one Letter of Assurance has gone out to anyone from MN yet. That one person? My roommate from MN Girl's State (We became great friends so we stayed in contact with each other)! Crazy world!

finally, some 2014 fodder. but seriously, you are something special to receive an appointment this early! congratulations! good luck to the rest of 2014. i'll be waiting...

Watch out for Robo-Cox. Don't worry, though. All he does is stand at stract attention.

Fighters are the best, by the way! :thumb: "Fightin' Fourth!"

Today when I came home from school, the official appointment package (dated October 13th) was waiting in my mailbox for me! Since I haven't seen the date elsewhere, I thought I would add that I-day for the class of 2014 is Thursday, June 24th. :thumb:

Thanks for posting the I-day date, I was wondering!

First of all CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Also, what exactly do the appointment packages actually consist of? Just wonderin'!

My appointment arrived in a big white envelope that says "Offer of Appointment Enclosed" on the front.

Contents of my appointment package:

1) A folder that says "Offer of Appointment"

2) A letter dated Oct. 13, 2009 that says, "Congratulations! On behalf of the Superintendent, Lt General Michael C. Gould (USAFA '76), it is my pleasure to announce your appointment to the United States Air Force Academy as a member of the Class of 2014...

3) An accept/decline form and envelope

4) A sheet titled "Transportation Information To USAFA"

5) USAFA 0-205-1 (Record of acceptance, obligation, reimbursement, and oath of allegiance information)

6) A thick envelope from the Armed Forces Bank w/ info about setting up a required account

7) A booklet titled "The Academy Experience"

Hope you don't mind me popping this thread up. I was just wondering if it had any information about the Orientation Weekends (dates primarily) in April? Just looking to try to make break plans and wondering if/how that would fit in (and being optimistic about an appointment by then)! Or have they not planned them yet? Or do you have to actually accept the appointment before receiving the invitation to those? Thanks!

Congratulations! I got my appointment today! See you at IDay!
November: Friday the 13th! 2009
