If you're in some of the earlier waves of application deadlines, do you hear back from the academy sooner?

For example, my deadline was early November, where other candidates I know have a January 31st deadline.

Waiting is so painful! :p

It depends on a number of factors including if you received a nomination and if you passed your DoDMERBs.

Yes, I have received a nomination from my congressman, and I qualified medically through dodmerb!

This is honestly the best approach (0thers will generally agree):

Brace yourself for the decision coming out in May. If it comes out earlier, great.

But you need to manage your expectations and also start preparing for Plan B.

It will be an emotional roller coaster. Be mentally tough!

Best wishes!

Sorry to burst your bubble, but it doesn't. It gives you a chance to have your application reviewed for an LOA but other that that you'll be notified in March or April just like everyone else. As hard as it is, just try to enjoy your year and your family as much as possible.
