Appointment to Class of 2015

KMC, I applied for EA2 as well and received that same envelope yesterday informing me that my application was complete while also asking me to complete my DoDMERB (which I have been deemed "qualified" prior to receiving this letter). By the way, Good luck to your DD!

-Mark

Thanks...good luck to you as well! :thumb: Guess we'll just keep on waiting...

When my DD started this adventure, I knew after reading past posts that this was going to be a lesson in patience for me (hince my user id), as there was a LOT of GREAT competition. She applied for EA and was deferred to regular (received her TWE right before Christmas Eve). So she kept in contact with her Admissions Officer and updated Admissions with any academic, athletic or civic accomplishment. She also talked with several coaches. She got Plan B going even though she was not thrilled about it. She was accepted to all colleges she applied to so that took some "pressure" off. It was hard as all of her friends knew where they were going. I told her either way she couldn't lose as Plan A was still alive and if that didn't work out she had Plan B for sure. She then received notification from the Academy that she had been waitlisted. So she was still in the running, but time was running out with her other college offers as a deposit was needed to secure her place there. She made a decision which college she would like for Plan B and we sent in the deposit. In May she was asked if she would consider being placed on a smaller waitlist. Of course, there was a glimmer of hope and she wanted it. She still kept sending in her accomplishments. On June 9 she received a telephone call offering her an appointment. She accepted and is now busy studying for her exams at the Academy. Don't miss out on the present. If your DD or DS gives their all in this application process, that is all they can do. Admissions does an excellent job! :thumb:

Thank

What an amazing story of patience. My son also has plan B in place, but as you said, he is not excited about it. His only goal is to attend the Academy. To know that they accept students into June is exciting and stressful. Thank you for your words of encouragement.

My DS did receive a phone call the other day saying he had a conditional appt (need to finish medical exam) So obviously there are several ways of receiving notification. BEING PATIENT's story truly is exciting. Everyone of these young women and men who have applied are winners. It takes guts to put yourself out there.

Not Alone

I have a feeling that others will be amused by this - if not.. sorry.

I have spent some time this afternoon trying to comfort myself over the "wait." By reviewing these forums i can tell you that 34 "members" have posted that they are waiting for news. 2 are EA2, the rest appear to be EA1. Of those, only 7 have heard they are in either fully or conditional. 3 learned of deferral.

So.... for the rest of us 22... we are not ALONE:)

It just SEEMS like everyone else has heard.

definitely not ALONE....

DS applied EA1 and is daily stalking the mailman... We were wondering if we were alone. This post put a smile on my face :shake:

Good luck to everyone waiting patiently!

Only 8 more days for EA 1 waiters...hang tough and good luck!

EA 2 may have a few more days, but see above for the only advice that seems to be applicable.

To all who wait....may your holidays be wonderful, filled with peace, love and a BFE.

We are in EA1 and still stalking the mailman... thank goodness only 8 more days .. it is nice to see that we are not alone in this waiting game.... Happy Holidays to everyone and thank you for everyone's input and advice!

Does anyone else have the recurring nightmare of not hearing by the 24th and going that entire LONG weekend without mail?

Just pray that bad weather doesn't interfere with mail delivery. But, at any rate the days are a-dwindling! In the long run the extra day of waiting won't be what you remember. I promise.

Still waiting here too

Daughter is EA1, attended AIM. My mail carrier is beginning to fear me and my timely run to the mailbox only to look utterly disappointed. In the past 2 weeks I have received more mail from the Coast Guard Reserve, Coast Guard Academy promotional mailings etc. ARGH! The agony!

(My sign-in name is from my stalking days of Daughter #1 who is now a 2C majoring in Chemistry at the Naval Academy)

Just be patient. I didn't receive my letter until Christmas eve, but at least the bright side is you know you will get it that day if you haven't received anything yet.

Conditional Appointment to the Class of 2015

:w00t: Got a phone call yesterday from the USCGA and I received the Conditional Appointment. The condition being that I still need to complete the DoDMERB Medical Exam. Ecstatic here in KY.

My daughter got a call today from her AO. She will be in the scholars program and is a very happy camper this evening !

Objee, can you share any updates with us regarding mailouts?

Just posted a new thread with EA Group One information...all notification letters have been mailed!

Is there a chance that he would find anything out before April regarding an appointment at this point?

We'll start reevaluating EA deferrals in February, so it's certainly possible he would learn that he has been appointed (or waitlisted or not been appointed) well before April 15th...that's just the date we do our best to notify all applicants of their status by.

Congrats !! I wasn't sure if anyone else from KY got an appointment or even applied . LTJG Sullivan called me as well a few weeks ago and let me know I have a conditional appointment too ! :thumb:

AAAh the Waiting Begins!
