I received a full NROTC scholarship a few weeks ago and recently a thought popped up. Does the admissions board at Annapolis see that I have received a scholarship and if so does it look good that I have one or do they figure that I already have a way to commission so I "don't need" USNA?

I think I have seen it posted on that the two are independent of each other and one does not affect the other. Others in your position have accepted the NROTC scholarship, received an appointment and then declined the scholarship. Others declined the appointment.

Either way, congrats on the Scholarship!

Nice work on the scholarship! Like MJP said, they don't exchange information. It doesn't mean you will or won't get into the academy

Congrats on the scholarship. It seems they do not talk to each other, even for medical waivers. DS received a DoDMER waiver from USNA in October 2013. NROTC granted a waiver for the same condition a full year later.

I recall seeing a thread last year about which path to commission is more competitive, USNA or NROTC. There didn't seem to be a consensus. The good news is, you have a path to commissioning. That's something to celebrate! And you could have more to celebrate soon.
