To answer "wolfpierce's earlier post".....DODmerb operates on a separate schedule than admissions. Admissions will or will not contact without concern for where you are in the DODmerb process. My DS (recruited athlete with an application submission date of around mid-Sept) just happens to have "qualified" at this point, but could still easily be in the "remedial" process if the remedial requests were more involved with issues that were more concerning to them. You could have been a recruited athlete and have been contacted this week AND be DQed with the need to try to get a waiver simultaneously. In fact we were on campus a couple weeks ago and met a parent of a current CGA junior that told us their story. Their DS got his LOA in October but got DQed for a past knee injury and didn't get the waiver until March. Since your son submitted Oct 10th he may not be in this earlier wave. If so you may not hear until closer to Christmas. But that would be a function of when he is being reviewed by admissions and would have nothing to do with your son's status with DODmerb. Hope that makes sense! Good luck!Have all the recruited athletes received qualified from doDMerb prior to getting call from the coach? My son has not and just completed his physicals yesterday. Application submitted to CGA October 10. No call yet from coach. Baseball player.
Speaking from personal experience it's normal to be reviewed and not given a decision straight after. Usually means they want to see who else they have in the pool before considering an appointment offer. Nothing to worry about, since your DS is still in the running. Just remember a decision will come for sure by Dec 24.My DS just checked again and no updates - decision box still not checked. His admission officer said his application was reviewed weeks ago and is done, but didn't say the outcome, so it seems the outcome is uncertain...Anyone else still not seeing anything???
