My DD received a call from a coach this last week saying that her packet was up for review next. I think he referenced it as Board 5 & 6. Not sure what that means but he said she should finding out soon.

They group application into bundles for review, based on date of submission. I believe there are around 100 applications per bundle. I presume that is what they are referring to as "boards". When did your daughter submit her application?

If your DD received a call from a coach, that makes me think she's an athlete. You indicated that she applied on Oct 14th - non-athlete. Did I misunderstand? My DS applied on Oct 11th, and he's not being recruited by a coach. He does wrestle, but was not recruited for a sport. He has not heard from anyone yet on the status of his application going up for the review board.

I think that it is likely we will all have our answer within the next 13 days...

With an application date of the 14th, you will probably be in the last group of announced decisions.

I can't remember exactly but I think she submitted it around the deadline October 11-15.

Korab....you are right! Christmas Eve is the magical day, but until that day comes it is fun to share and converse with other members about the different stages of the process. Thank you all for providing that opportunity....especially since my DD doesn't want to discuss it or talk about hypothetical situations!

Son received email from coach week before last asking for any updated ACT scores or grades. This coach has emailed him a few times prior as well. Submitted his app second week of October I believe.

After months of waiting,it seems like the last few weeks will pass the slowest! In a way,I am grateful for this time as I feel more prepared for any of the possible outcomes.

The question on my mind is whether there will be a release of decisions this week, or will all remaining decisions be held until the 24th? Anyone have experience to relate from previous years?

After viewing the last year’s thread,it seems that a few appointments were given in the weeks leading up to the 24th and if I am not mistaken, they finished a few days early last year.
However,it does seem that last year differs a bit from this year in terms of when decisions were released,as last year the first appointments were given the first week of November while this year, the first decisions seemed to be around Thanksgiving.

Question comes up every year as to when the next announcements will come out. Going to quote Objee from 2015 that all will get decision by 24th. Admittedly Objee was giving more status back in 2015. Guess the warm weather is keeping Objee out of the office.

And the happier quote from Objee in 2015
Good luck and lots of patience to all waiting.

These are wholly unsatisfactory answers! We need any morsel we can find in order to attempt to read tea leaves and jump to conclusions!

I know the USCGA website says Early Action decisions published by December 24, but that is a Sunday and according to the USCGA calendar, winter leave begins on December 15, so is is likely that decisions will be out this week or will some really come out on Sunday December 24?

I find it oddly soothing to read over the appointment threads from past years - seeing the excitement and eventual resolution of hopes or new purpose each year is very inspiring. It reminds me of how this thread will also soon have outcomes resolved - with each hopeful applicant being successful in life no matter what the decisions are simply due to being the kind of people who are interested in this kind of meaningful path (getting all philosophical on 'ya ).
