Appointment

Got the news at 1:30 this morning. Rejected outright. Can't believe they waited so long when the LOA said application was up for review a month ago. Seems they could have let us know a while ago, as Plan B was put on hold because DS was eternally hopeful. Best of luck to everyone and I hope the other last-minute notifications hold better news for everyone else.
We are in the same boat. She is devastated but insists she will self prep and apply again next year. I would prefer her not. Congratulations to those who received good news! Merry Christmas to all.
My DD was in that boat last year, but went about making her application even stronger over the past year and got appointed this year. Perseverance was rewarded. Good luck and Happy New Year!

To AFA9293, In what ways did your DD strenghten her application? Did she attend a university for her freshman year as well? Congratulation to your DD!!

She attend community college and took core classes to show her ability at college courses, took the SAT again after a focused study period, continued to work out to increase her strength and she remained engaged with her volunteer/service time. It was a very focused effort to work on the areas she thought could be strengthen.

Lesson learned....."hope" is not a plan. With my son, we are still awaiting decisons on USNA and USCGA, but I really had to push him on applying to 11 other schools with NROTC units because he too wanted to embrace the "hope" plan, thus requiring less effort, lol. So thankfully he churned out the college apps and essays and the NROTC scholarship stuff while home over winter break. Now, I gently remind him that he has options if the "top choices" don't follow through.
