My DS just received a nomination on the portal from our Congressman. He also has a LOA and everything else on his portal is complete. What happens next?

3Q + nom + loa = offer of appointment is around corner.

Be patient, do everything they ask you to do, have fun with family and friends, get into shape.

Distance from here to corner is unpredictable!

Continue to tend alternate plans.

Last year, it wasn't until February when the first wave of offers officially went out. My DD was in the same boat, 3Q + LOA = Feb 9 offer. It will come just be patient.

DS is hoping that there will be an update shortly after the holidays are over. He will definitely be keeping an eye on the portal.

DS received an email from his MOC on 12/21/20 confirming his nomination. The portal updated a couple days ago and now the nomination shows there. We were most curious on how the next step is triggered. Does someone from USMA admissions have to send the offer?

Patience. Covid and holidays.

They will get to it.

My DD had a LOA with a qualified DODMERB, presidential nom, and completed app by middle of Oct 2018. Congressional nom showed up mid-late December. She got her appointment middle of Jan 2019. There was trickle of appointments in the fall. Then it seemed like a big batch went out in middle of Jan when my DD got hers. The MoC who nominated her called a couple days before the actual appointment showed up in the portal. After that, a nice, thick package comes in the mail with some paperwork that needs to be read thoroughly and either submitted prior to or on R-day.

At this point, it's just a waiting game for your DS and family for that offer (ie appointment) to show up. With the pandemic, who knows when or how appointments will come out.

Tell your DS to continue to study hard and stay healthy, and don't get in trouble (law, school, etc...).

There are threads in the this forum about parents bubble wrapping their kid once that appointment comes in, but that's not a topic that needs to be discussed at this point.

My child’s portal still isn’t showing nomination received although child accepted nomination back in mid December. No response from USMA regarding issues.

I am in the same situation. LOA + Med Qual + Nom + CFA Pass. Now I am just waiting and trying to be patient as possible, but still anxious.

Now my DS's portal shows the following for CFA again. "Candidate Fitness Assessment (CFA) score not on file, or review is pending". This happened once before and immediately a request came for an updated pull up video which was sent and still shows a green check mark. We reached out to admissions and they responded and said DS is in ""hurry up and wait" while everything gets processed through the qualifying work flow". They also said this in regards to the CFA changing back to pending.

"The CFA status in the candidate portal has been updated. Previously a CFA scorecard status would turn green after submission which gave candidates a false sense that they had passed the CFA. Now, the status will turn yellow after submission and ONLY turn green when CANDUS has been updated to QUALIFIED. This allows time for review of CFA videos to make a determination on whether a candidate passed or failed the recorded events.
When your file is reviewed for qualifying and is updated as such this will update your CFA to Green. There is nothing for you to do about this change."

I take this as a final review step since DS has gone through this already once before.
