Hi everyone,
Į have applied to be a part of the class of 2022 at west point. I am curious to know if anyone has received an appointment yet or found out if they have a nomination? If not, when do you guys think this will all start come out?
Thanks!

Last year there was a wave of appointments in January according to the 2021 appointments thread.

Most of the January kids recieved theirs around mid-January (17-19)

I do not know anyone with a USMA appointment for 2022. A friend of mine from Illinois has an LOA as he is a lax blue chip and another friend from NY is a recruited scholar. I myself have an LOA for a reason not specified and my entire application has been completed but none of us 3 have received appointments yet.

I think there may be a problem in Admissions or that they are understaffed. I can't speak for them, as I don't know what the issues are or even if there are any. I know the waiting game is hard, but you have the promise that you will hear from them, and whether there is a TWE or BFE waiting for us, we will hold one eventually. Good luck to you!

It's hurry-up-and-wait-time.

I know of several individuals that have received appointments for the class of 2022. Some of those individuals are on the this forum but many are not. For example, class of 2021 had approximately 125 members (out of approx 1225+/- ) on this forum state they had received an appointment. That's a very small percentage of possible respondents.

One constant from my time there until now is they work at their own pace. Sometimes it feels like no one is in a hurry but you.

Waiting is the worst. Time stands still. But if this is what you want, and achieve, get used to it!

DS received confirmation of his LOA and that all application information is complete. The letter states, "WP will begin tendering most appointments at the end of February 2018 and yours will be in the first wave of packets mailed out at that time."

Hope that's helpful.

it looks like it will still be awhile for most. Waiting is hard but it is part of the process. As of today the current AOG's have not heard anything yet and aside from recruited athletes and direct appointments they are usually the first to hear from admissions..

Last week I went back to previous appointment threads looking for the AOG's reporting in (3 years worth, I recall) and the AOG appointments seemed to be all over the place. One year, it looks like they heard along with the first wave, then another year towards the end of January, and there was one year where they seemed to know at the end of Feb/beginning of March! So I am not sure what to expect in terms of their timeline. I am sure they are all checking multiple times a day!

I think it mostly depends on when you got your packet complete. I'm not a direct appt or athlete and I got mine last week. One thing I read on a different thread is they are going to "build the class" over the next few months based on who accepts/declines, and what quotas they need to meet as well(athletes, prior service, etc.). Just stay positive, and stay focused on school!

It really has nothing to do with how early you complete your packet, (it does not to be completed prior to an offer) and there are no real quotas. The process is driven by the types of nominations and how you can be slotted. This first wave you are seeing now are Presidential Nominations, Service Connected Nominations, LOA holders, and clear slate winners. These individuals have a nomination source to be slotted against and are ranked high enough on a slate to get an offer. More than half of the incoming class has an MOC nomination. Everyone nominated on that slate needs to complete their application and be evaluated before an offer is made. The application deadline is not for another six weeks so the majority of appointments occur after that.

Does anyone have any experience with ROTC nominations? I’m curious when that slate is decided.

Very early in the process, however, it feels like hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of people are getting appointments. Waiting has been tough, but never thought it would be this bad.
This is really early in the BFEs getting sent out. I didn't receive my appointment till April. Good luck and have patience.

DD is an AOG and there is rumbling about getting their appointments towards end of January. Fingers crossed the rumors are correct and this waiting can be over...VERY LONG two years!

It just depends where you are sitting on your slates and how strong your packet is. My DD received her notification in early February last year. She did not get the MOC spot as he had designated a principal again. Hang in there, I know you have been going through this for a long time.

My AOG has also heard the late January time frame.. Speaking for myself I will be very happy when this is over, as stated above it has been a very long 2 years..
