The wait has been tough. Trying to manage expectations. Very rough math, but with Early Action, Incoming Prep-School Grads, Prior Enlisted, Foreign Students and those already offered slots in this years class, exactly how many Regular Admission slots remain? Guessing only 50-100? Certainly not many. Losing faith as each day goes by without a call.

Based on previous years, there are some people that are given appointments or at least waitlisted up until almost the very last day. There is still a lot of time left in March. Based on what I've heard, applications are still being considered. If you have any important/significant updates, you can continue to let your AO know. It could possibly make the difference if you are about equal with a bunch of other applicants.

Are appointments only given out on Friday's?
I can only speak from my experience. I was told the decision was made on a friday but verbal notification did not occur till the following Tues/Wed then it appeared in Bears Den a few days after that. In this particular case the coach reached out so that likely accelerated notification.

If you go back and check last year's 2026 chat threads, there were a LOT of notifications on March 31st. Yes, many waitlists and denials but there were also acceptances at the last minute. I know the waiting is so, so hard, but hang in there!

I believe the letters in Bear's Den are posted on Fridays only. At least thats how it was for EA

"Fourth one to add to the collection South Carolina...Auburn, Kennesaw and Georgia Southern. ....still waiting on that FIRST CHOICE from Connecticut......it's agony I tell you !"

Apparently we were still in waiting 7 years ago on this day LOL- came up on FB memories.

Does everyone offered an appointment get a phone call ?
I received a phone call about 2 weeks after I was offered my appointment. I didn’t even receive an email that my Bear’s Den had been updated. I managed to stumble across my appointment letter by the sheer force of impatience. I got mine the day after Thanksgiving, however, so that may have influenced the communication I received

Don't give up. The wait can be unbearable, I know. My son is incoming class of 2027 and will attend swab summer starting this June. He attended AIM last summer and was lucky enough to be given an LOA(Letter of Assurance) based on his record/resume and interview at AIM, a short while into his senior year. So we knew he was guaranteed an appointment should he complete the application process by his first month as a high school senior, but did not actually get his BFE/appointment package until last month. The wait between the LOA and the BFE was unbearable even with the LOA...just hoping that every box gets checked and we don't miss something, etc. Ours was a little different with the LOA being so early and all, so it was a "conditional appointment" based on medical...on so on...for a LONG time.

Not sure how many appointments are left, but our AO said the board is wrapped up as of this week. I am sure there will be some revisiting and waitlist shuffling etc. but the main regular board meetings are wrapped apparently. Having said that, they may not finalize notifications until April 1 which I believe is the “know by” date for USCGA.
