    Hello all,
After reading many threads on this forum, we have learned about Prep school for USMMA. I will spare everyone another " what are my DS chances " post, but we are asking for advice on when is the right time to inform the admission officer that he would be willing ( with great pride) to accept an offer to a prep school?
    Thank you in advance.

I don't think there is ever an inappropriate time to mention that you would be interested in Prep were you denied an appointment. Just one man's 2 cents who can barely spell USMMA.

No, he has not been denied an appointment, just trying to be proactive.

I would contact your admissions Field Representative and ask your question there. I hope you have developed a relationship with him or her. Your Field Rep is in a better position to advise you about how competitive you are and when/if you should make known your willingness to accept a prep offer. We have found USMMA admissions to be much easier to deal with than admissions at any of the other academies. If you do not want to ask the advice of your Field Rep, feel free to contact your regional admissions officer. As far as timing, if you decide to make your willingness known, I would make contact sooner rather than later. We have found that email communication has worked best. Make sure any contact comes directly from your DS. In the meantime, have your DS continue to update his admissions file with any new accomplishments. Feel free to pm me if you have more questions. Good luck.

I knew that. I meant as a statement to admissions, as in "If I'm denied an appointment I would be interested in Prep".

Thank you for the advice. DS did contact his field rep early on, but was referred to his admission officer. DS really hasn't had any contact with him since. Will suggest that DS reach out to him again this week.
I think DS was worried that making his willingness known, could come off in a negative way ( I think he is over thinking the situation). We really appreciate everything, as we are non military family learning as we go.
