Is there a list of approved boots by brand and model and if so, where do you find this list?

Thanks.

Just bought the Belleville C333 Coyote Hot Weather Assault Boot at the West Point exchange. I believe any boot bought in the exchange is authorized but refer to the memo to be sure.

The boot memo defers to AR 670-1. It is under admissible packets. The exchange has a horrible selection from my experience, US Patriot had a bigger and better selection, they will also make sure you get the right boot for your feet. Hope this helps.

Can someone put the latest AR 670-1 for cO2025?
AR 670-1 is an Army wide regulation (AR = Army Regulation). Google will get you the most current version. It should be dated JAN21

Thank you, was not sure about googling it.

Trying to get some guidance on boots memo everyone is talking about. Looking to get athletic ( pt and running) shoes for DD.

Yea, odds are that it'll end up directing you to DA PAM 670-1 for more specific specifications if that's what you're looking for. The DA PAM tells you that boots need to meet the following:

"The boots must be between 8 to 10 inches in height and made of coyote-colored, flesh-side out cattlehide leather with a plain toe and a soling system matching the color of the coyote upper materials. Rubber and polyether polyurethane are the only outsole materials that are authorized. The soling materials will not exceed 2 inches in height when measured from the bottom of the outsole and will not extend up the back of the heel or boot or over the top of the toe. The exterior of the boot upper will not contain mesh, but will be constructed of all leather or a combination of leather and nonmesh fabric"

99% of what you find at AAFES will meet these specifications and most places you are buying online, if it is somewhere like Patriot Tactical, will say whether they are AR 670-1 compliant in the description.

If you haven't had running shoes fitted, I very much recommend going to a local running shoe store and asking for a fitting. It is very much worth the time to find a shoe that fits your stride; you'll feel better after running and your body will take less abuse. In terms of color, just pick something that's conservative so you don't attract any attention you might not want from cadre.

For running, pm me if you have specific questions. Not knowing where your daughter is at right now or what she's currently doing in terms of athletic activity, its hard to provide tailored advice. The general advice is run between now and R-day, hills especially if you can work them into your routes. Try to work up to 4-5 miles at a 8-9 min mile pace comfortably (faster is better but 9 min mile formation runs are the minimum you'll want to be comfortable with so you don't have to deal with falling out of a run). Build mileage over time. Don't jump into running 5 miles this week if you haven't done that before. Generally adding 10% total mileage a week is what's considered safe for folks running longer distance as they're building up mileage. Incorporate speed work (intervals) to get faster. Running steady state longer distances is good for cardio and building an endurance base. It won't make you faster.

Went to a shoe store here locally, got some insoles for her foot style and running shoes. Just wanted to make sure DD’s selection of shoes ( black with white soles) is not out of line.

Zero issue with those shoes. Honestly, I rocked some awesome hot pink shoes for a year or so before I ran them into the ground (as an upperclassman). Black and white will be solid

Where exactly is the boot memo? Is it typically on the admitted students portal? If so, I do not see it.

Check "Overview" tab, on the left column where all the forms are should be a section called Admissible Packets. You must accept the appointment first or it won't show up.

I have just received my Garmont T8 NFS boots. They fit well and seem to be of good quality. However, I do have one concern. The boot memo distinctly says that the boots can not contain any mesh on the exterior. On the exterior of my boots, there appears to be some sort of mesh material. I just wanted to see what you guys thought. I would hate to break this pair in just to have them not meet the standards. Also, I suppose it is important to note that these boots are Army 670-1 certified. Thanks!

Your cadre will be running around in Garmont t8 NFS's(they are quite a popular boot). I would not be too worried.
