Hi all! Recently, I've been accepted into a 2 week summer program at my top school for music, as well I received a scholarship specific to my HS for it. I'm worried, however, if I'm accepted into the USAFA SS that the dates will interfere with the music program. I know it says on the Admissions page that dates are TBD, but does anyone who's been to SS in past know if the dates are around the same timeframe every year? I've also auditioned for another 2 week summer program where if I get accepted, then all expenses are paid (minus transportation). I have dates for both programs, so I'm waiting on the SS dates. These two music programs are huge opportunities for me to get into contact with cello professors, since a music school is my Plan B if none of the SAs work out.

Wow, perfect timing. The program I was accepted into starts June 20th, and is in Colorado as well. Thanks!
Historically, there are three week-long sessions for SS. I do not know the degree of choice you have in the matter should you be selected. Summer Sci also runs at the same time as Sports Camps. unsure if you have interest, but it may work out to where you could attend both back to back. Sports Camp does not offer in residence lodging for their 3rd week.

That would be best case scenario, since I'd have to fly out back and forth. Hopefully they wouldn't mind me bringing a cello with me!

I did something similar - I went to SS then flew straight to Florida for a 3 week summer aerospace class/camp. I had a tennis racket and a massive suitcase. They laughed, but it was fine.

Well, Box Boy is famous - maybe you could be Cello Boy/Girl

Embry Riddle? I'll be the one with a massive suitcase and a cello (it's a pretty big case), so I suppose if anyone sees that at SS they'll know it's me

Yup - I was a couple days late and had to catch up, but wanted to do both programs since Embry Riddle was on my final list of potential colleges. Doing them back to back was also super helpful because while parts of SS made me think USAFA wasn't for me, the comparison to civilian college was stark and helpful. It was just way too easy and I realized how much I loved the challenge of USAFA even though it really sucked when we did the "doolie for a day" day and in the moment, I was thinking "I am never going to USAFA". Funny now to think back on it.
