Hi, first time on the forum. Our son would be a 2028 USNA candidate/junior, he is signed up for the CIV at the end of month but we are having a hard time figuring out the Thursday logistics due to another family event. Looking for anyone in Hampton roads area who could bring him up, we can bring home Saturday, offer gas and toll money etc. Also would be great to connect with other area families going through the process, he is interested in USAFA as well. Thanks!

I assume you are referring to the Candidate Visit Weekend (CVW)?

A few thoughts for you. He can call Admissions and request a fall CVW; I suspect there are no more this spring before the transition to summer training periods. CVWs occur can occur for both HS juniors and seniors. They are scheduled throughout fall and spring semesters.

Take a look at flying Southwest from Norfolk to BWI, Balt-Wash Thurgood Marshall Intnatl Airport, closest to Annapolis and USNA. Short flights, nonstop. This close, not the best fares.

You can also look at Amtrak from Norfolk Station to Union Station in Washington, DC, then taking the Metro to the New Carrollton, MD station, about 15 miles from Annapolis.
