April is a great month!

Dudes, im so sorry u found out bad news. But nrotc is still awesome and honestly is most likely where i will end up (GWU), i just dont know if i can find the courage to call admissions. If I dont get any notification by monday i will call them, did u ask to speak with your RD or did u just straight up ask for your admissions status?

This time last year, my son was in the same shoes that many of you are today. Disappointed about USNA, but looked forward to NROTC at RPI. Now, he doesn't look back. He is having a GREAT Navy experience and is at an excellent engineering school. He looks forward to serving as a Navy officer in 2012.

Good luck to you all--God has chosen the right path for you. Embrace it!

April isnt that great of a month...got my TWE today. I'll be on 4 year NROTC scholarship next year at GWU, but even still, it stings to hear that you wernt good enough. I guess theres always next year. thanks to everyone on here who answered my questions, good luck!

Even though it may be too soon for you to hear this, just know that the sting WILL go away. I am speaking as a Mom who has gone through this.

Don't think of it as "not good enough." The Navy still wants you as an officer through NROTC! Courage, Honor, and Commitment are values that you obviously have, and you will carry through to becoming a Navy officer, just by a different path!

I know it's difficult to see it in writing, because it makes it real. You have a very bright future ahead of you. Are you planning on reapplying? Either way, keep your head high. We are waiting as a family today to see what my son's future will be. I'm preparing for the worst, but hoping for the best. Did your BGO give you news last week?
I know it stings right now, but time will motivate you to rise above. Good Luck Cycling!!

Thanks for the encouraging words, my BGO did not notify me and yes i plan on reapplying.

Cycling1222 and heritagetitle@hotmail.com, I am sorry to hear your news. GWU is a fantastic school - one of my son's closest friends is headed there in the fall (pre-med) and turned down many other excellent schools in favor of George Washington.

Yes it does sting...

I wish you the very best of luck in your college careers.

I found he same TWE today...actaully my mother did I was doin a project....Anyway it is not a good feeling to find it. I guess off to VMI for NROTC scholarship and probably reapply next year.

I was also rejected today, this was my final attempt at gaining admission. Looks like it is the Platoon Leadership Course with the Marines for me, good luck to all.

I haven't receive anything, or at least not yet because I am still at school.
A rejection letter is imminent for me...:frown:

Well, has anyone recieved positive news recently? Does anyone know if ANY appointments were made in the last batch? I'm on vacation currently, we get home tommorow. Uggh.

MWE = Medium White Envelope, I've been waitlisted

Side note for upcoming classes - The week of April 15 is full of bad news, finish your application early so the board can decide...when there is still room.

Strong work!!

We are waiting for the mail in a half hour or so. Hopefully my son will get the same. Otherwise it will be the year of college and reapply. Although he is going to look at other options including the Platoon Leadership Course option and or ROTC without scholarship at the school he is going into.

Best of luck to all.

any clue to how many make it onto the wait list and how many get appoints off the wait list?

Just to let you know, my son finished his application in October. We've been waiting for 6 months. I would say work your tail off in school, athletics, and leadership. When all is said and done, if you have done everything you can do, it is in the hands of admissions. It is breaking my heart to see all of you post bad news. I am praying someone post good news soon.

I'm curious of a few things: the few that found out before your letter, how were you notified? When was your letters sent out (Thurs. or Fri.)? And last but not least, how would I find out how many BGO's are in Arizona? Thanks in advance and keep the faith.

AZMOM

my daughter finished her application Sept 26th (she'd been setting on her statement most of september) So it has been a long time.

She emailed her regional director last thursday am and received a very quick and succinct reply of "your application will be reviewed for appointment in May"

we've haven't gotten any mail today, so I really don't know if much more.

As far as BGO's there is a listing of them in the USNA catalog, but it doesn't have all of them. I know ours was not listed.
