Has anyone waiting for a Navy ROTC Scholarship heard from the April board yet?

We can't be the only ones!

Is my kid the only one still waiting for a NROTC Scholarship decision? Haven't heard a peep from Naval Command although local office says she is still listed as a "no decision" when they called. Anyone Else?????

Just followed up to find out they now have dropped the ball twice on my son's application. Last one really has cost....they never sent his completed file into review board. Only one review board left next week, so we were told to look at next year!

Gumtech - have you emailed them in Sarasota? I did that for my daughter a couple of weeks back and they confirmed that she hadn't gotten it. She has yet to get anything in the mail or have her status online updated. The only way we're not still "in limbo" is because I emailed the person whose name is floating around on one of these posts.

GAMCJROTCMOM, Do you have that email address for Sarasota? I live in Sarasota and we are still waiting to hear if my son got a MC scholarship. His status changed last week to :Application has been submitted online
Your application is at the Marine Corps Recruiter Command Headquarters for final processing and selection determination. Selection decisions will begin in late August and continue until the end of April. Once a selection decision has been made, your new status will be reflected. It used to say it was at the review board. Not sure if the change is good or bad.
Any thoughts?

Will email.

I think we will do that. Had our local office who my DD interviewed with call down there beginning of last week, but they said no decision was made yet on her. Deposits are due for Plan B May 1st which is NOT the same school as the ROTC school. Trying to hold on as long as we can. I guess it is still good that she is in the running tho.

just sent an email down to FL

GAMCJROTCMOM, Just emailed the address I got off the Navy status page. Hopefully, they will respond. Even a "no" would be disappointing, but would let us proceed with plan B and other scholarships from schools she was offered. Fingers crossed.

Dear (my name)
Thank you very much for your inquiry regarding NROTC board selection. Unfortunately, we do not discuss any applicant's status at anytime during the selection process until a final decision has been made due to the fact that our scholarship selection cycle is not completed until April 2010.

Our selection boards meet monthly to ensure timely selection for applicants. If your daughter is not selected, her application will then "roll" to the next board. This will continue to occur until the end of board selections in April. Applicants who are not selected will then be notified. However, she may currently be selected and will soon be informed.

Your daughter's acceptance to a college or university has no weight on a board's decision to select her or not.

Should we need any amplifying information from your daughter, we will contact her by one of the available means listed on her application or through her NROTC coordinator.

Please be patient as we have many applicants. I understand that it can be anxious and stressful while awaiting results, but please have your daughter check her online application status at the NROTC website periodically for any updates...

SO WE WILL PATIENTLY WAIT.

Well!! I wonder if that means we got bad information?!? All we were told was that my daughter's name was not on the "list". This was the email -
"Thank you for your recent inquiry about your daughters scholarship.
Unfortunately, she was not selected from the Early or the Regular
Scholarship Board.
She will be receiving a letter in a few weeks with alternate Marine
Corps Scholarship opportunities."

But, that was written before the April Boards, so.......
Oh, geez, now I'm confused again!
