Have you ever thought of joining an ROTC program? How about joining an ROTC program in one of the toughest environments on earth? If so, the University of Alaska is for you. We are looking for qualified applicants to join our program. Wether you are a national ROTC scholarship recipient or are looking to compete for scholarship on campus, Alaska is the place for you. We also have six room and board waivers that you can compete for at the Fairbanks campus. If you are interested, please respond and we will contact you with the details.

Hah! Kind of makes the phrase 'zero dark thirty' superfluous, especially in Fairbanks. I do love Alaska though. Beautiful up there. :D

I neglected to mention in my earlier post.... Welcome Aboard. I hope many folks take a new look at Alaska as a result of your post.

My daughter would have been interested if she saw this post 9 years ago. She tried to go to get PCS'd to Alaska last year and it looked good until she hurt her knee. Now she's stuck going to Germany for 3 years with her AF husband :) That was always her #1 goal and the reason she applied for AROTC vs NROTC in the 1st place....to get stationed in Germany, not to get a husband :)

We lucked out...all (3) of those kids in my avatar are all headed to Germany this year. Mt AF E-7 nephew leave for Ramstein next week for (4) years, my O-2 son leave in May for 9+ months of NATO related maneuvers all over Europe and my soon to be Army O-3 daughter will be heading there in December for (3) years. I need to get myself a Lufthansa credit card and start earning some mileage.

Yes, any sort of rewards card will help. I hope they all have amazing experiences. Best of luck!!

DS heading to Fort Wainwright in Fairbanks soon from Fort Benning. Have heard the Museum of the North at UAF is terrific. A trip north is in our future...looking forward to it.

Fairbanks has to be the only town in North America where a moose will walk up to the enclosed swimming pool at the hotel and peer in. Loved our short stay in Fairbanks in June.

We had a few inches of snow this morning!!! It is really an amazing place to be stationed. I saw a moose just this morning during a run (amazing animals).

My son almost applied to Alaska. We are in Georgia, he is hoping for an ROTC scholarship at University of North Georgia. He has just been recently awarded the Arabic Project Go scholarship at UNG. I think he either listed UAA OR UAF on his ROTC scholarship application as one of his schools of choice. we were concerned with the cost of room and board, so he didn’t apply. But he definitely has interest.

I have been in Germany for 7.5 years and absolutely love it! Very central and convenient for traveling through Europe. My kiddos have spent almost half of their life here.
