Are all AROTC PMS interviews the same?

Hello, I am trying to schedule an interview with a PMS for my AROTC application. I was just wondering if I do an interview at a university that I am not applying to will they ask specific questions about their AROTC program? or is it general questions about being part of AROTC? The schools I want to apply AROTC for are a bit far and the closest place that can interview me is not a school I am applying to... thank you!

During my DD's conversation with ROO at a local university, we were told that a candidate can chose the nearest AROTC unit to their house and interview there. The interview will be general. There are several threads on SAF that can help you with what type of questions are generally asked.

DS was awarded 4 year with AFROTC and AROTC and we are awaiting NROTC-MO decision. His AROTC schools of choice were a minimum of 3 hours away. He had a tough time with the local programs during Dec with holidays and all. Reached out to another program about 1.5 hours away to get his interview in on the cutoff date to be boarded at the 2nd board. I drove hime there and after the initial interview of about 15 mins, the PMS officer asked if I could come in. I beleive he was exercising his options to recruit DS. The school did not offer his degree program but nonetheless, he was honest in his desire for DS to enroll. Really important to have the interview conducted by the PMS instead of the ROO and if you can swing it, go to your school of choice. If you are a competitive candidate, and the PMS officer wants you-his notes and write ups about the interview will go a long way

DS interviewed at a local school he didn’t apply to (thanks to others on this forum for that sage advice!). He was awarded a scholarship on the second board this year. The interviewer did not care that he didn’t apply to the school, but did ask him questions about where he applied and why. I think she was genuinely interested in the path he was planning out. He wasn’t expected to know anything about the battalion at the school he interviewed at...but I think his research into arotc helped him converse about why he wanted to be part of it. Good luck!
