Homeschool
At the beginning of last year's application race, USAFA information noted "1 or 2" home schooled students admitted every year. Any all-Academy Nominees or Appointees out there?

Given the current environment, I'm sure the number of applications from homeschoolers to any college has increased given the sheer number of families who pulled their kids from public schools at the start of this academic year.

That said, my DS plebe was homeschooled. On the parents' facebook page for his class, one mom inquired how many other homeschooled plebes there were in the group. At the time, about 10 families responded. I doubt that all families were represented on the page that early in the summer, nor did all families probably see the question/respond. So, that's at least around 1%.

I was homeschooled for most of high school, received 3 congressional and 1 senatorial nomination, and have one appointment and one LOA.

I definitely think that homeschoolers can be competitive applicants if they have the right application package, just like people who attend public or private schools. I doubt there is a high percentage of them applying in the first place, though.

Hey there! We are a homeschool family with a cadet at USMA. He received congressional nominations to all three SAs, appointed to USMA. He is thriving. My suggestion for you is to focus on presenting a well rounded application. Good test scores, challenging coursework, and find an organization that you are passionate about and get involved. Best of luck to you in your application process.
