Are my chances gone?

This past quarter I messed up really badly. I missed quite a bit of school because of track meets and I took classes I knew were too hard for me. I was sick for a week and the excuses go on and on. The bottom line is in honors pre calc I ended with a C+ in honors chem I ended with a B- and honors history with a B+ which brought my gpa to a 5.5. Are my chances for getting into the service academies essentially over.

You never know unless you try. Bottom line is its only a no if you don't apply. But, remember West Point wants to see you succeed taking a tough curriculum. Keep taking hard classes and work hard. Eliminate excuses, they don't matter. Your SAT/ACT score will matter, knock those out of the park.

I got a D in pre-calc. And a couple of B's but I was fine. Just apply and see what happens you never know what else they might see in you.
