Are Nomination Apps Rolling?

So I know that many of the nomination apps open at different times, mine range from September 27 to November 8th, but is sooner better? As I understand it it doesn't matter when you submit it because the nomination sources have their own committees that look at all the apps after the deadline has passed.

You have to get them to invite you to an interview, before you can convince them to nominate you. I would surmise that getting your applications in early would be a good thing.
Apply for the Presidential nomination is you qualify, and for the Vice President nomination, as well. They are both online.

That is at the very least, four (4) nomination applications which you need to complete. Both Senators, your District Representative, and the Vice President.
If you qualify for the President's nomination, that's five.

MOC who hold NOM interviews typically do them all at one time once their application deadline has passed. Each MOC runs their own process, so it is always a good idea to carefully read & follow their current instructions for how to apply. These are usually posted on their website. Whether you are the first or last to submit your application probably makes no difference as long as it is within their application window.

There are 535 possible answers to this question..every MOC handles their Nomination process differently. That said, I've never heard of any MOC with a rolling nomination...they tend to announce their nominations for all service academies in single press release.

On the other hand, why delay ? There is no prize for first place, but submitting any application in a timely manner demonstrates motivation and organization.

You said "OPEN" Didn't you mean CLOSE? My MOC's application deadline is October 31st for next year's class. So I would be applying now if I had everything ready.

Edit: Perhaps I misunderstood. Did you mean the apps where you can check the status of noms after they have been submitted and the deadlines are past?

Throw in JROTC nom, if applicable.

Add in nom from college ROTC unit, if applicable.

Both senators and my rep require all documents be submitted by early October (2nd-7th) and mine interview in late October/early November.

A better application package is better. A better application package submitted early is even better. An outstanding application submitted prior to the last minute is pretty damn good. The point is it's the application not the point it was submitted and within that constraint earlier is better. Generally true of most things in life, especially applications.

Yeah, sorry, I meant CLOSE, not OPEN. Hasty typing. And thanks for explaining!
