I’m an appointee for 2024 and am definitely gonna want to have my guitar there (after BCT of course) the only thing is I don’t know if there is somewhere secluded I can practice songs? And if there isn’t should I just bring an electric? Or if there is should I still just bring an electric? Don’t know if that makes sense but basically I don’t wanna annoy the daylights out of people trying to get a song worked up so I’m not sure if I should just bring an electric so I can plug in earbuds and be silent. Thank you!

There is no guarantee you will be allowed to have your guitar as that is basically squadron dependent so I wouldn’t worry about that right now.

I've never heard of a squad prohibiting a guitar- pretty sure you are allowed to have that since everyone is allowed 1 large personal item in their room (like skis or guitars). Just check with your squad after BCT ends to be sure. :)

Here are a few options you will find:
1) Your room
2) Squadron Activity Room (large gathering room in the dorms - there are two dorm buildings - SAR in Sijan Hall are physically located within your squadron area as I recall, and separate places - commonly outside on the t-zo ground level in Vandenburg hall.
3) Classroom after hours - this is where the band practices
4) The chapel
5) Your sponsor family house
6) Arnold Hall (student life center) - plenty of space and the ballroom is almost always empty.

Multiple people in my squad have guitars and there has not been an issue with them being too loud. The only time my roommate and I have been annoyed by any music-related sounds is when our neighbor who happened to be in the A Capella group,"In the Stairwell" was belting out songs all weekend. And even then, it was only a slight annoyance. If you think your playing may be distracting to others, you might want to consider the options @shiner mentioned above or just be considerate of when you play your guitar.
