Are USNA LOAs still coming out?

The question is as said in the title. I just received a nomination for USNA and submitted my app around Sep 26th (LATE according to other people) and completed everything (recs, etc) around the end of October. Do I still have a chance to get an LOA? It's a stupid question but just want to find the answer to it...

There is no answer. They can give out LOAs all the way up to the week of I-Day. Focus on what you can control and sit back and wait. Enjoy the rest of the school year and work plan B and C.

Most midshipmen in a class don't have LOAs. I know this website sometimes inflates the presence of LOAs, LOIs, or whatever acronym they're called now, but remember, you absolutely do not need one for an appointment.

"Late" doesn't really matter, as long as you have submitted everything required before the deadline published.

Now it's time to sit back, enjoy the rest of your high school senior year, and also work on other plans. Highly encourage looking into ROTC at civilian colleges as well to have that option. Both academy and ROTC grads end up as O-1s with the same pay.

If it helps, I know someone who got accepted 2 years ago who received an LOA in January. Don’t pursue an LOA, look for an appointment. You can only control your side, and it seems you’ve done that well. Good luck, and I hope you hear good news soon!

yea, ik someone who got one today.

As the process continues through the cycle, more conditions have been met such a DoDMERB and noms, so LOAs are not necessary in some cases. An LOA if possible at any time in the cycle. Sometimes all conditions are met and it’s the process catching up.

You are not late. Everything is fine if the package is submitted. Enjoy the Holiday season.

Yes, I got LOA yesterday :)

This thread title has a bit of irony in it .... "Are [which leads the question] ...?" followed by "LOA [which is the assurance]" ...

You know what they say about death & taxes ... and you know what Mark Twain said about statistics ...

Happy Thanksgiving everyone ...

One of my military instructors for ethics sits on the admissions board and I asked him about this (not specifically this situation just in general). He told me that the board plans on sending out the majority of the December Noms / LOA's this coming week. Typically they like to send out the big batches of "early" admits the first week of December and January. If you don't get one don't sweat, IronmanDaremo is 100% correct, they give out LOA's up until the very last minute.

Good quality hearsay. “December noms?” Or appointments?

So is my application being done right now a plus? Would I potentially get a word by December end? I was reading a few other forums where people got their nominations on 11/22 and proceeded to get an appointment on 12/16
Edit: That was from a post 2 years ago

You know the answer. Decisions go put between now and May, with some hanging on into June.

Nominations aren't due from MOCs until 1/31. Guessing that noms you're hearing about are outliers. Since MOCs follow their own process, surely some are submitted now and some much later. Rest assured, you'll hear about any appointment before May (with rare exception). Meanwhile, tend to Plan B, C, D....

No matter when your application is done, official word via USNA is that they aim to let everyone know around the middle of April. It is NOT a FIFO process.
