Hello again all,

I know you've all got your Terrible Towels ready for the Steelers showdown with the...

oh. oops. My very bad. :oops2:

So, are you going with the Pats (boo hiss!) or the Falcons (really, still in my boo-hiss mode)?

Perhaps you are, wisely, still rooting for the Steelers to win it all?

You mean there's an actual game being played on Sunday? The Budweiser ad is emblematic of what's wrong with the NFL--too political, too commercial, too manipulative, too much about everything except the game between the lines. The NFL is very close to jumping the shark and college football is not far behind. It's why I've become a fan of Service Academy football and why if I had to choose, I'd go with the Falcons, only because of former AF Falcon Ben Garland. To the OP's point, it would have been nice to see a matchup with the Steelers and WP grad Alejandro Villanueva.

On paper, the Falcons have the better team all the way around with a lot of weapons. It doesn't hurt that Ryan is having a MVP type of year.
Having said that, Pats coaches have been masters on how to identify and take away those weapons.

It SHOULD be one of the better SB games that have often, although not always, disappointed which I don't think is really fair as the expectations of this game are way too high to begin with. (I like the college game better for hundred reasons, but I digress)

I have no dog in the fight but I do have have a Naptown cocktail at my favorite saloon riding on the outcome.

I took the 3 points and Falcons to win it.

I'm with Capt MJ.

I was so looking forward to a new Clydesdale-puppy commercial, even though I usually cried. :frown:

I have a sister in Boston and one in Atlanta. Hm. Perhaps I should have one of them bribe me into cheering for their... OMG! What was I just saying?!

Still bleeding black and gold.

Madhttr: I haven't been called the OP in a long time! Made my day!

Don't forget that the Patriots have Naval Academy grad Joe Cardona as the long snapper. See also a nice article about Bill Belichick reaching out to the USNA football staff and working with them during the summer: http://mmqb.si.com/mmqb/2017/01/25/...-england-patriots-naval-academy-super-bowl-li

Everybody in the country who doesn't instantly know what a "rotary" and a "packie" are is, of course, rooting for the Falcons -- understandable. But wanted to point out the Service Academy connection with the Patriots.

Oh yeah, I heard that after I posted. We'll I'm still rooting for the Falcons but I wish Cardona well. Nice to see guys like that getting some publicity.

"Chapter Two: Hope theory begins with a theological sermon delivered by Tillich (1965) which first pondered the question about hope and its effect on human development. Snyder (2002) opined in his seminal book..."

@EDelahanty - I'll be waiting for you in the skybox.

I've been stuck in Nuevo Laredo for the last two weeks because my green card was the wrong color, apparently, but a federal judge's ruling just got me back in. I should be in the Kinnem skybox no later than half-time. Who's playing, by the way?

Who cares who's playing? :)
