Is it possible to have an area for those of us that are either volunteers or students that participate in Sea Cadets, CAP, Young Marines, and JROTC programs?
I know there are a few of us scattered across the board and there isn't really a forum out there for us. It would be great to have a place to talk about Advanced Trainings, drill weekends, competitions, ect.
Just a thought, may have been tried before and fell flat...

I can see it now....all of the JROTC staff officers discussing outfitting their marksmanship teams with everything Oakley has to offer and planning their summer FTX's with the same intensity as a JRTC rotation.... (I can say this, I was in JROTC haha).

Thank you for asking about this. Due to the nature of our forum and its mission, discussions about Sea Cadets, CAP, Young Marines, and JROTC programs will naturally come up from time to time. However, in keeping with our forum's focus on service academies, ROTC programs, military colleges, and other commissioning sources, we don't currently have any plans to create a separate discussion forum.

Thank you again for your question. We always strive to continually evaluate our operations and appreciate the opportunity to consider this.

Old thread, but- You can get noms to USNA and USMA through JROTC, and CAP has programs for members to go into the USAFA prep school, and members of Sea cadets and YM's can go into the respective services at a higher pay grade. However, I do see that it would be kind of a pain to start a new subsection. Maybe a sticky on the other sources of commissioning sources page about these?

Good morning,
I would like know if the stipend that AROTC Cadets receive is considered income?

It is not considered taxable income by the IRS. I am a CFP.

Also please note that this question should be posted in the ROTC forum instead of community info.
