Hey everyone!

I've recently been looking at potential careers in the Army and saw that in addition to helicopters, the Army has a small amount of fixed wing aircraft. Does anyone have any info on this? I have seen some of the other threads on this subject, but I'm interested in how many of these fixed wing units are guard/reserve, what their deployments are like, and possible duty stations. Thanks for any info!

Also, if anyone knows what an Army career looks like with this job (i.e. promotions, longevity, job security, etc.), I'd be really interested in that as well.

A little bit dated. But you get the idea. @CIGeography is a great twitter follow if you like charts like this.

My DS, a 2015 grad, was just assigned today to fly the Apache. In his flight class 6 were assigned the Blackhawk, and about 19 assigned the Apache. No Chinooks or fixed wing aircraft were offered. So be willing to fly anything. You never know what the needs of the army will be when your class is ready to be assigned aircraft. My DS loves flying and is glad to have been able to branch aviation.
