Where’s the 🥓 ?

Breakfast that morning - cheddar bacon scones, fresh fruit.

Much as I seem to have written about it, I truly do not consume it non-stop.

So you say....

I went to a game one year in the mid-80s. The town was rockin' but I froze may a** off at the game. The cold + the venturi effect had me quite uncomfortable. I now watch from the comfort of some warm room, preferably where a beer is available.

Unless we are invited to someone’s cozy suite, it’s the sofa seating for us. I have done my share of open seating at A-N, including the year I and my bridge coat and SDBs were soaked with icy rain, my ribbon rack bled color and was ruined, my white shirt was tie-dyed with ribbon color run-off, and my collar and neck were stained blue from that polyester blue lining. I was a sodden, sorry lump who made squishy noises when I walked. I hope the weather is perfect football weather, but it is Philly in mid-December...

The mids suffered the same fate. Imagine thousands of wet wool coats spread out to dry on every surface in Bancroft. The smell.

We're going to the Joint Army/Navy watch party in Denver. Anybody else in wait mode for 2024 appointments going to this event in Denver?

My daughter (DD2) and I will listen to the game on the radio. We are a little short on TV.

You ask where in the continental United States could these people be living to not have access to TV so a brief story is in order. This summer I learned that when the adjacent state has a "problem" bear they capture it and release the animal at the end of my dirt road. You get the picture of where we must live. Yesterday I took the two golden retrievers for the hour-long walk through the woods. It's not uncommon to see the occasional bear, the frequent deer, or have a mother moose chase the dogs back to you so yesterday it started with a large pile of fresh bear scat. The diameter of the feces tells you how big the bear is. Ohh, that is a big bear. Then we came across the tracks in the snow and again, ooh that is a big bear. Finally, I'm deeper in the woods when the older, dark red golden comes sprinting back, passes me and the younger dog at a full gallop, never acknowledging the two of us but headed back to the house. The female is no dummy and followed on his heels at a sprint. So again, yesterday became the first time I've walked out of the woods at twilight looking over my shoulder for what might be behind me. Last evening my daughter sat by the fire alternately reading chemistry and learning to operate my father's Colt .45 1911 from WWII.

You have to appreciate that nothing was going to diminish my daughter's excitement for tomorrow's game, least of all my story about a little bear outside.

Do you take guests?

Even if they're cheering for Army? 😅

I think I'm going to go back to the formula that worked really well for most of the 14 game streak.....
First half on the Spin Bike, it's really funny how the RPM's go up when the ball is in play ! I'm a little concerned with this new passing game --the game is longer, and that makes for a long spin !
Second half, chill on the basement couch , adult beverage in hand, running commentary with Classmates online,

It's almost game day... BEAT ARMY !

Sadly, I have an early meeting on Saturday morning - State official in the American Legion and I need to be there anyhow but this meeting also includes our annual Boy's State coordinator training. As I am a trustee of Boys State, I kind of need to be there. That mess should end at 1:00 or 1:30 at which time I have a 75 minute drive home where I'll either watch from my couch or head over to my local Legion post where they will have a group "watch" going on.

Great bear story! Must be a beautiful part of the country.
Moved out of "bearville" area of New Jersey last year. Its only 25 miles or so but we have not seen a bear since we moved. The bears in "bearville" range up to over 800 ellbees and the state record bear of almost 830 pounds was taken about 2 miles from our house. Sadly, no carrying of .45's or other bear influencers as just having on your person is a crime (seriously) unless you are actively hunting with a license in season, etc.

.
Leaving house 9am tomorrow morning in Northern Loudoun near Lucketts VA, heading North 15, East on 70 toward Baltimore, then North on 95 to Lincoln Financial Field.
