Navy 26-14
Congratulations to the Midshipmen for completing their 8-0, 4 year sweep over Army and Air Force and winning the CIC trophy once again.

Congratulations to the Black Knights for playing an excellent game and giving Navy a good run. I know a lot of people thought it would be a blow out but the game was really good. Since we sat on the Navy side I had to "quietly" cheer for Army. I did chuckle a bit too loud when Army faked that punt! I called the fake as they lined up. Made my day!

Things you didn't see on TV:
The March On was fabulous. A sight to behold and made attending the game in 40 degree wind worth it.
Half time Drum and Bugle Corps - excellent.
Combined Army/Navy Glee Club singing the National Anthem - very moving (if that was on TV - still better to see it live.)

Spirit Videos:
Those Navy Midshipmen can really channel their warped sense of humor.
Best Videos were: Navy - "Snakes on YP" and the take off on the "Clicker" commercial. Very funny
The funniest Army video was mistaking the milkman for a midshipman!

Special Guests: Don Rumsfeld. From where I was sitting - Navy side- nosebleed.... there were not many clapping and a few muffled booos when he was introduced. Thought that was interesting.

To Sum up the Day:
157 miles round trip
$10 program
$28 T-shirt
$6 - two hot chocolates
Taking daughter to her First (hopefully not last) Army Navy Game: Priceless

The TV coverage sucked. After Navy tied it in the 1st quarter and they went to a commercial break, I turned it off and went to work in my garage. I let the DVR record it.

When I rewound the game from the end (just to see who had won), I ran across Navy singing Blue and Gold, and from the looks on their faces I thought we had LOST. I had to rewind a bit more to get the score and restart my heart.

Sounds like you had a fabtastic time J_A_M

Well at least you got to taste a little disapointment, even if it was for a few seconds :D

Believe me, I've tasted that disappointment too many times. Three times in person. :frown:

Its a cycle thing, eventually army will get back to sinking navy hopefully next year :D

Thank you for your support of the Navy "clicker" spirit spot. My friend and I made it....I also played a small acting role in it (the Air Force cadet in the taxi)

Oh that is too funny! I actually needed my daughter to explain it to me! It was a take off on Nick Lachey's commercial right?
That definitely was a video for the "younger" generation.
Now I wish I could see it again! I guess I have to watch more tv so I can actually see the real commercial!
One more question..... she wanted to know if Midshipmen and Cadets are sooooo busy how do you guys find time to make those videos?

Since he didn't have to be helped from the field, not many of the fans realized that Adam Ballard broke his leg on Navy's first series of downs. Ballard was Navy's leading rusher for the season with all his gains being the up-the-middle-option-one of the triple option. Not to take away from Army, who played a great game, but this is my feeble rationalization of why my 49-10 prediction did not come true. It was truly a great game for what is an outstanding December classic.

Unfortunately, it was the only one I understood, so for the first time in the 20 or so years they have been running, I had to give the best Spirit Video to Army. There are a lot of fans whose only reason not to watch the game on TV is so that they can watch the video skits. I guess I am going to have to start watching more TV.

Before anyone gets started, there is no truth in the rumor that BC has hired Paul Johnson who will then coach against Navy in the bowl game and see if he can stop his own offense.

For all of you who aren't quite ready to forget the Army-Navy game last week where Navy beat Army for the fifth consecutive year. Also this is the fourth year in a row that Navy beat Air Force. Consequently, as in one of the videos where Coach Johnson mentions it, Navy's graduating seniors have never lost to another service academy:
