Army Navy Game

See it at least once while your DS is there. You can always wait until he is a Firstie and might have stripes, then he would be out in front. But recommend you see it at least once while he is there. It is pretty cool, but a long wait.

If you want to CYA....you can always route a special request chit to sit with family. In fact, there are no special circumstances for the Army-Navy game, so theoretically, all MIDN would have to sit in the brigade section, not just plebes, for the entire game.

If I was a plebe and had family attending the game (assuming I wanted to CYA and sit with them), I'd route a special request chit asking to depart the brigade after halftime....it's possible to have that approved.

CYA is a good idea but they can wander around. They are not glued to their seats. Even at home games they have a restricted section for Mid seating but they can move around. You can even lift a younger sibling into the Mid section from Bill The Goat. I said Mid not Plebe. Plebes are usually too scared to get out of their seats to get food let alone see their family but they actually can. People in the stands love to see Mids and Cadets up close and I have seen many sitting with their families at both home games and Army/Navy. Bring a blanket to the game. They do have to be back for the traditional salute to each team at Army/Navy. See that game whenever you can it is a great experience. "A GAME OF HONOR"

While I know most don't practice this, this is the lawful order signed by CAPT Clark, for home games. MIDN aren't restricted to just their seats (i.e. they can go to concession stands, etc.), however, the lawful order is a special request chit is required to sit with guests EXCEPT for 1/C. As I mentioned, there is no special stipulation for the A/N game, but in using good judgement, I would expect the same to apply.

You can make of it as you wish, I'm just providing what the Commandant has signed.

d. Following march-on, First Class Midshipmen holding tickets to
sit with guests may leave the Brigade. First Class Midshipmen
requesting season tickets must request seats located in sections 106-
108. Midshipmen are not authorized to sit in end zone or grass
seating.
e. Civilians are not permitted in Brigade seating area unless
they are an official “Drag” of a Midshipman (e.g., candidate visitor,
high school recruit, etc.). Only First Class Midshipmen dragging a
guest are allowed to sit outside of the Brigade seating area. Company
Officers may approve requests from 2/C, 3/C and 4/C to sit with guests
on a case-by-case basis.

Rules are Rules but the reality is something else. If you are a ten year old sister and the Mids from the Company hoist you up into the stands to sit with your sister and her Company.:thumb: It was a thrill for her. Didn't see the SP with the handcuffs. They aren't patrolling the stands for violations. See some Admirals and the Plebes will run.

As I said, I'm just posting what is fact and realize some rules aren't enforced. To each and their own on how they want to conduct themselves.

Please read my original post. Parents should not ASK a Plebe to break regulations. The should not be enforcers either. The Plebe knows where he happens to be on the food chain at any particular moment and what he is willing to attempt to get away with. It is a part of the Academy learning experience.

I think Army/Navy is an away game for the Midshipmen this year.:thumb: Home game rules may not apply. We always met our Plebe during home games under the stands at concessions (by the way, some of the best restaurants in Annapolis have some great food there). Plebes are usually scared to death about doing anything against the posted rules. At football games as the years go on they learn what is engraved in stone and what can slide. In the food chain the Plebes are Krill and will act accordingly.

Please be PC and refer to where She/He happens to be in the food chain. Believe me they know.

I am sure there is a reason, which totally escapes me, as to why this could not have been done by PM.

Because this is an open informational thread:thumb: and I hate PM.

Alumni Association has announced that Navy March On will begin at 12:14 and Army at 12:44. There is no reentry from any tailgates so kickoff will be a long wait. Pray for sun and good weather.

I checked with Alumni Assn and they said unfortunately it would be difficult to do both the tailgate and the march on - I will have to pick one :(

I will go ahead and watch the march on. They say it is a long wait. Any suggestions on what to do during those few hours? Is there food sold inside the stadium?

Lots of food in the Stadium. You can do the tailgate but to watch March On you will have to give up a lot of Tailgate time. From 12 to kickoff at I think three is a long time but to see a March On is a great experience.
