Army Navy Ticket Refunds?

Any skinny on what the game attendance might look like? I picture some sort of lottery for a few thousand seats but am wondering if anyone knows what options they may be considering...all speculation welcome, hahaha. We still have travel plans, as well, no small feat.

Or is it time to request a refund?

This article came out a few days ago. It says 7500 at a stadium. If there are 4200 in the Brigade and 4300(ish) with Army that alone exceeds the 7500. Plus players, coaches, medical, stadium staff. My guess is - no lottery, no fans other than the students? Not sure. I had two sets of concert tickets for the summer, and eventually I was refunded. I was thinking I would wait until there is an official announcement that "fans" will not be allowed. Time will tell. Crazy times we are in!

I expect only mids and cadets and maybe some senior leadership will be allowed to attend. And that’s best case. No regular fans. You will likely be able to request a refund, but will be encouraged to donate the cost of your tickets to NAAA to support Navy athletics generally.

And yes, for sure we will invest the money in one of the foundations but would imagine the refund comes first...if anyone has already done it, again, I'd appreciate a heads up.

Now trying to decide on the travel reservation to and from Philly/Colorado for 3 people...

Not sure about USNA, but USMA Cadets have been given no guidance yet as to where the game will be played, or what measures will be undertaken to protect the students. But USMA has advised parents NOT to expect to attend. They have re-arranged the Cadets schedule so all exams, academics, and training are done prior to the game and they will be released either upon completion of the game or return to WP for the Holiday break. IMHO, it seems a shame to keep both schools in session just to have a presence at the game. A lot of the lure of the game is having parents and alumni there and the students having passes to visit Philly and mingle with their opposites and friends. I am thinking that IF they play in Philly that Cadets/Midns will be bused to the game, and bused back immediately following the game. No extracurriculars.:groupwave:

The Gossip on The Yard is that it's possible game will be played at West Point since stadium on their campus- if the fan restrictions aren't increased in Philly.

I don't think they're keeping the schools "in session" just to attend A/N. Normally, USNA finishes first semester exams around Dec. 20 (some earlier, some later, depending on exams). This year, they are not having T-giving break but everyone will be done Dec. 11. That's a lot earlier. Yes, it allows them to attend the A/N game if possible, the next day (Dec. 12), but it also gives everyone a long winter break -- much longer than usual.

Per the above, I would be surprised if USNA would agree to play at USMA -- there is zero advantage in doing so. Also, there is a contractual obligation to play in Philly, which would have to be addressed if the game were moved.

The dant said at a 4/C Commandant's call, there are two options that they are looking into:

1) No fans, no cadets, no mids and we will be released for leave a few days early
2) Just cadets and mids on Dec 12, and we will be released for leave most likely following the game.

Either way, we will be returning early January, "The current idea is to start bringing people back the week of 11Jan21 with the goal of having everyone back within the five following days" for a ROM period.

I am a bit confused. Finals end on Fri the 11th, so how could mids be released a few days early? Unless he just meant it was possible, depending on their finals schedule?

Daughter reported similar gossip at WP. To be clear she is hoping it turns out true since much better for WP than USNA. But as of now she is not buying it.

Love the way those Mids gossip! I suspect WP circulated this rumor as form of psychological operation. Payback for Navy borrowing the trophy last year.

Just so long as they play somewhere.

Plebes might not realize yet that finals schedules vary by class, major and each Mid. Some get out earlier than others. As of right now, it appears, their last military obligation is either their last final (or possibly duty) or the Army Navy game.

Depending on ones last exam or last military obligation. Sorry I didn’t clarify.

Or after they move? My mid is staying at St. JohN*s, and says he expects to be moved back to Bancroft for the spring term since St. John's is bringing back their own students. So certainly they will have to be out of St. John's before leaving for Winter break? Where will their stuff go, and when? No, not expecting an answer, just pondering it, wondering if others have musings?

Moving would be considered a military obligation. USNA will figure out a plan for them coming back. There are always moves at the semester for Firsties moving to and from Battalion and Brigade leadership. Plebes, often but not always, will change rooms too. Exchange cadets also move out. USNA will have a plan and communicate it I am sure. I am sure they are working on the reform plan for January and how ROM and follow on ROM in the semester will be handled.

“But USMA has advised parents NOT to expect to attend.“

When was this officially announced and where?

I never said it was "Official". I simply said WP has "advised" parents not to expect to attend athletic events or plan visits to WP for the rest of the fall semester. IMHO, I think this is an effort to limit families or grads spending money for travel and lodging to attend a game that as of now will have no outside spectators. Obviously, things can change, and maybe something will be worked out, but "right now" there are no provisions for outside attendance. We all know, IF you have a military ID you can enter post, but Cadets have been warned "Officially" that any interaction with visitors or parents on Post, or violation of standing orders would result in an Article 10.

Ok, the reference to WP home games fan attendance and parent accessibility to post has been suspended indefinitely (unless DOD ID cardholder for post access) has been announced. I agree with what you said here.
I understood your previous reference to pertain to fan attendance to the ARMY/NAVY game, as that is the topic of this thread.
Sorry I misunderstood you.....

Not a problem..:) As far as Army/Navy, my assumption (and that could be a mistake in itself) is that ANY fan participation will need agreement between USMA, USNA, The State of PA, and the City of Philadelphia since the maximum attendance at Lincoln Financial Field is limited to less than 8000 (the two Corps alone).
