ARMY NAVY

I’m gullible. I saw this a prior year and thought it was a real statement in wiki.

OK maybe gullible isn’t right. Maybe I’m hardened to not trust what I read, and didn’t doubt it was an actual statement on wiki.
Here is another prank...printer and cover atop the chapel dome. Impressive!

Word is - that was a huge No No and they got into trouble! But I think it is hilarious. Have you seen the Dant's instagram video with the mids taking selfies in front of his house with a sofa - all the while he was watching them on his ring camera and then he came out and scared them - that was also hysterical!!!

Good story.
Contains a vintage clip of the last time it was played in Michie Stadium.

Yes I saw that. SOOO FUNNY!! Ialso saw a lot of last nights shenanigans on different accounts. Sounds like a few got busted. All I could think, was those poor moms. If their Mids really are in “detention” for part of break 😭. Then I called mine to make sure they weren’t involved...

Is this an app to download?
No, it’s just a link to the online program you just page through. Link has been published by Navy Sports and USAA, the game sponsor.

At USNA, that is called being on Restriction

the golf carts, the forklift shenanigans, I couldn't help but smile at them (while hoping my mid wasn't involved and at risk of restriction prior to coming home).

That's the one!!!

Steve
I must have been posting at the same time as you, or working on it.

Surprised to see any MIDS off the yard! Let alone not blurry faced. Maybe they have approval?

I also saw that all the RESTRICTED (TY @OldRetSWO, couldn’t find the word in my mind before) Mids are freed. That’s good for all the moms out there. 6 more hours til mine board the buses 🚌!!

What’s with printer in the pranks? It’s in the video ( on Twitter) and wearing a cap on the post in the picture above.

@Capt MJ Thank you for the link to the program! Found out you can print it too! There is a little arrow at the top. Stinks to miss my first game - I would have purchased this for sure!

So since the beginning of the academic year the hapless printers have been the sacrificial lambs. They have been thrown, tossed, catapulted, lit on fire, gutted etc. You get the point.
Initially done in jest as I understand it in protest of no liberty and general crud morale.
It reached a new high with the chapel spire and now the appearance at the Pentagon.

Luckily, my mid was asleep during the forklift/side by side capers, and he is too budget conscious to toss his printer into the volcano. The capers looked fun. But from what I understand those who were identified will be adjudicated at the return of the brigade. Sounds like a “you took it too far during spirit week” conversation is pending.
I can say the videos filmed from Bancroft rooms, catching the capers live from a few stories up sure did have happy mids laughing and observing. Tonight and tomorrow will be long, hopefully morale is high going into the game.
Go Navy Beat Army!

And in solidarity with their ‘brothers and sisters in arms’, USAFA and USMA have participated in the ‘great printer toss’. Old Goats have sent printers 🖨 to Mids to toss as well.

Seriously, it would be neat to research these kinds of things. How does the rallying point item become the icon for a movement?

The story, at least in part of the printer toss becoming the symbol of the year, is the fact that to replace the ink costs more than a new printer. These are outdated in that sense, and therefore useless. Plus they are not reliable, break often. All this according to Mids. My oldest’s hasn’t worked since he got it plebe year. And warranty? Ya, right. Reality is tech support/warranty is a bust. And they are ‘required’ to purchase this out dated, over priced piece of junk that doesn’t work. Again, according to my Mids. Printer frustration is a thing. Hence the perfect icon for ‘20 frustration. BTW, my guys still have theirs, working and non.

The SUPER FUNNY thing to DH and myself, is that when we took our plebe out to Usna this past June, we were walking around the Yard as detailers were preparing for the incoming class. We saw flatbed carts of stacked PRINTERS being pushed across they yard. One Mid trying to push and manage and balance flatbed, stacked 2 or 3 high, across rocks in the road they can’t see, etc. Guess what happens? The ones on the edges fall of. To the concrete. Little did we know we were getting a glimpse into the future 😂

They were in boxes, but they landed hard. Those ones would probably have some damage. We all commented that we hoped they would work ok. Obviously not.
