Army Nursing Officer Questions

I am in the AROTC program but was not on scholarship or any contract due to awaiting to be medically cleared, which I am now. From my understanding, once a ROTC student passes all the requirements, an on-campus Nursing scholarship is offered through the Army Cadet Command as per the Army Cadet Command regulations (as I read it) not the unit itself, as potential Nursing Officers are in a different category. Does anyone have information about that?

Secondly, I am contemplating doing the SMP program. Will the Army National Guard guarantee me to enter the guard as a Nursing Officer?

Nurses can not get a scholarship thru the guard or reserves anymore (and thus no guarantee of NG/reserve) You can be a non-scholarship nurse and hope to get guard or reserve. But something like 95% of nurses go active duty.

No one “hands out” scholarships. You have to earn one. What did your ROO say? Is he putting you in for one? They dont have to.
