i recognize your screen name. did you also win a NROTC scholarship?Received a 4-year to WashU, Carnegie Mellon, and St. Bonaventure!
I was kinda wondering too. And wonder if there’s a way to find out scores, or where I stood against all others.Anyone know how many were given out this board and last board, and how many are left? Congrats to all!
Yes, would be nice to know. I feel like someone shared how many were given out after first board, but I can’t remember? Was just curious and of course knowing where you stand / stood would be so helpful to know too…so you could be both optimistic and realistic while waiting 2+ more months! Good luck!!I was kinda wondering too. And wonder if there’s a way to find out scores, or where I stood against all others.
Congrats to winners
My DS got an email from his ROO at his #1 school about an hour after the portal updating. How soon after a winner is posted will they receive an offer email?
My son was offered the same after the first board. He also did not select this option, and we had no idea what it was. After much research, and even visited one of the junior military colleges as it is local to us, he decided to decline the offer. We learned it is a legitimate scholarship that actually has the potential to cover even more than the traditional 4 year scholarship. However, at the end of the day, my son wants to be at his #1 choice 4 year university which he was accepted to. He did talk to the ROO at his # 1 choice as part of his decision process. He did help by telling my son that if he wanted a 4 year experience that he felt he should decline the offer and see how the remaining boards play out. He also told my son he felt he was “competitive” for the National scholarship. He still did not get selected on the second board, but is holding out hope for the 3rd. He at least knows where he is going to college and it’s his first choice. He also plans to do ROTC no matter what, and will also inquire about campus based scholarships if needed. This has been a long process already…just 2+ more months to go! good luck in your decision process and congrats to your son for being selected for the Ike Skelton scholarship!!My DS got a scholarship to participate in the ECP program (Ike Skelton scholarship) and to attend one of the 4 military Jr colleges. We have been doing some research on this program and it is not something that he is interested in. He has to decline or except before March 5, so before the 3rd board meets. If he declines does he still have a chance for a 3 or 4 year scholarship? I know he did not opt for this on his application.
I would definitely let admissions at the schools be aware of his scholarship. My DS got a 4 year award listing 2 very reach schools both of which he was deferred from in early action. Does anyone know how that process works? He may not get into either school as they are hyper competitive. Thanks
