Army ROTC 2022-2023 3rd Board

My ROO said since I am overseas I can do it when I arrive on campus in August. He said to give them as my mailing address the ROTC address for the school so I can set it up nearby there. I assume DoDMERB will accept that as my "mailing address"?
Good luck! I’m not really sure what to do if your overseas. I would follow the directions from the ROO, they should know.

A few people have us asked how many scholarships were given and the male to female ratio. I am have read on a few places it was around 3000 is that per board or total?

My sons award letter says 1000 4 year scholarships were given out. I’m pretty sure they give out 2000 3 year scholarships. Total about 3000 for all 3 boards. That’s my understanding.

Thank you. I’m very new to all of this and people are excited for my DD but, they keep asking questions how many were given out and other things and Google isn’t super helpful.
No problem. And according to previous years, there are generally approximately 70% and 30% male and female scholarships awarded, respectively.

Yes, it's dependent on DoDMERB approval or a waiver from AROTC. Yes, scholarship winners MAY NOT be issued a waiver depending on the needs of the service and the seriousness of the injury. If he's completely healed and it happened sometime back it may not even be an issue.

EDIT: The scholarship is also dependent on passing the PFT. It will not kick in until this happens.
We attended with DS a scholarship banquet at Norwich night before Rook Arrivial mid August. Several 4 year winners in attendance. I assumed most if not all got past DODMERB.
We came back October for Parent's Weekend/Football weekend Norwich-USMMA and to see our son swear in, only 2 MS1 contracted. My son said most of the 4 year winners BOLO the PT test on campus.
Point of story, make sure your cadet shows up in shape well enought to pass PT test.
Cadet Command won't cut a check to school or cadet until they contract. I do not know if CC will back pay.

The ROTC Scholarship PT test was a one mile run, pushups and sit-ups. Do you know what the test for contracting consists of? My DS is in the gym almost everyday training, I just want to make sure he understands what he needs to train for.

Just friendly advice:

Ensure you or your awardee gets the DoDMERB process done asap. Don't wait or it will bit you in the end. Just one less thing to worry about.

DS didn't need waivers but we had to be referred out for a couple of items. Probably added 2-3 weeks.

He had a minor outpatient surgery in 2014. They wanted the records. Well I had to remember who was the doctor and then we tracked them down.

Long story. They archive everything over to paperwork after a certain time. That request for records took several weeks.

Basically 2 minutes push-ups, 2 minutes sit ups, 2 mile run. You can figure out scoring from above links. He should also start prepping for the Ccmbat Fitness Test. Google is your friend. 🙂

It is also worth noting with reference to the fitness test that getting only the minimum passing score in an event is as good as putting a target on your back and will make you stand out in a very bad, ugly way. All the services expect its officers to lead by example and fitness is very high vis. On the other side, if your DS shows up a physical beast he will make a very good, positive impression.

This was fall 2021. CC was in flux with APFT and CFT. He did old APFT 17 to 21 standard to contract.

Help with acronym BOLO?

historically, it meant to fail at doing something, or to do a poor job of it, e.g. “Private Snuffy bolo’d that task.
Thanks.
That is really surprising then that so many winners failed it, considering that they already had to do reasonably well on the PFT to be offered the scholarship in the first place. My ROO said that the ACFT was quite easy, especially since you only need to get a passing score.

The letter was sent in an email late on Friday afternoon. The 3rd board results came out on Thursday afternoon so it was the next day. My son received a 3 year on the 2nd board in January.
My daughter only got
