Army ROTC 2022-2023 3rd Board

Wishing everyone best of luck in the last board. For those who do not get a scholarship through the National process, remember that there are still regional and campus-based scholarships available if you decide to follow through and participate in ROTC(as I plan to).
Over all, consider it an honor and an achievement that you were able to compete nationally!
Cheers

My DS status was changed from Boarded/UC to Boarded yesterday. I never know if this is a good sign or not!

Everyone's status should show boarded during the board dates (in this case 13-17th). Boarded simply means that they are reviewing your file. Thus you can't really take it as either a good or bad sign. :)

FWIW and as a parent of a 3rd boarder and I had the pleasure of living through this process. My best piece of advice is to don't visit the portal to much.
You will know soon enough. Don't visit this thread to much as it becomes a lot of anxiety of undue stress.

Hopefully the weather is nice and you can get out and away from technology.

Personally, I started checking the forums I think on Wednesday of that week. I believe in the afternoon DS was the only one with access to the portal. He actually found out from a email from his 1st selection congratulating him on winning a 3yr Thursday afternoon I believe.
Then he checked his portal and sure enough.

So, best of luck to everyone. I am really looking forward to seeing who received what and where they are headed.

DS is a MS2 and PSG. If you have any questions, please free to reach out to me.

I'm guessing the last board is probably the most difficult to process for a varity of reasons, a larger number of applicants being just one. Things like distribution of majors, kids accepting/not accepting/going to different colleges complicate things. Deciding on that final cut between two really high-achieving, good kids probably takes a lot of effort and stress and that's what the board does at this point.

Nope. It's just awarding the available scholarships to the candidates with the highest score. The other stuff isn't considered.
