Congrats!DS awarded a 3 year to Texas A&M and VMI.
Anyone else's status still showing as "BOARDED UNDER REVIEW"? At this point I feel as though it's a no!
I'm a high school JROTC instructor and one of my cadets just got a text from ETSU that he got a 3 year. His still says boarded under review. We were having the same thinking this morning until he got notified by the schoolAnyone else's status still showing as "BOARDED UNDER REVIEW"? At this point I feel as though it's a no!
Same happened to me with the Ike Skelton. My DS won a 3 year to his first choice! So happy for him! And to all of those who were told the chances were slim if they were offered the Ike Skelton scholarship, he was offered that after the first board and then a 3 year after this 3rd board. Whew! It was a long and stressful wait, but a good lesson in life for all of us.
Congrats to everyone…exciting times ahead!!
Thanks for that info. I assume I am in the same boat. Does anyone know what the deadline is for accepting/declining offers? Yeah, I'm probably grasping at straws here!My son status still shows " Boarded/Under Consideration", so when we as the school that did his interview and they said this,"That means that you were not offered a scholarship from Cadet Command. However, additional offers may be made after all offers have been accepted/decline before the deadline given. There still may be a chance, but as of now, you were not selected for a scholarship."
One of my daughters friends who graduated last year is at Mizzou on minute man. He really likes it.Minuteman ROTC Scholarship applications open April 1. It might be an option if you didn't get selected in the 3rd board. The ROO as your college of choice should know more. The Citadel sent out info about it this week.
Applicants get a 30 day deadline from the board date to accept a ROTC scholarship typically. I don't know if that means they offer more at that point. I would be speculating on anything regarding reissues of scholarships. Thanks for that info. I assume I am in the same boat. Does anyone know what the deadline is for accepting/declining offers? Congrats to you too!Same happened to me with the Ike Skelton.
Glad he made it.
My DS was also offered the Ike skeleton with the 2nd board and this board he received a 3 year to his top 3 schools. My DS won a 3 year to his first choice! So happy for him! No re-issue. By declining a scholarship offer it does not open up a slot for another applicant.Applicants get a 30 day deadline from the board date to accept a ROTC scholarship typically. If what you say is true, why is my application status still "Boarded/Under Review"? Why is it not "Not Selected"? Why, why why...No re-issue. By declining a scholarship offer it does not open up a slot for another applicant.
Don't lose faith. You are going to Virginia Tech, one of the premiere avenues for Commissioning. There are MANY other ways to commission. Based on my experience, cadet command will send letters to the non-selects. The portal may take a while to update. If what you say is true, why is my application status still "Boarded/Under Review"? Do all commands do the big check? We have a scholarship award night at our school in Missouri? It be nice to have something nicer than a screen shot of her selection status to keep.FYI
Houston, Texas Area
If your son or daughter is awarded a scholarship. Make sure you reach out to the Houston Army ROTC SORD Unit.
They will actually come out to your school and make a presentation with the "big check" an accomplishment that needs to be recognized.

I'm wondering this too. We are across the country from his college, but it would be nice to be recognized at Senior Awards Night.Do all commands do the big check? There are instructions on the additional information tab on the portal about award presentationsI'm wondering this too. We are across the country from his college, but it would be nice to be recognized at Senior Awards Night.
