Hello everyone, I'm still waiting on the third board but I want to ask if it's okay for me to just put down one college, because that's where I want to go and I already got accepted? The school also got a ROTC program there and that's where I interviewed also. Any help will be appreciate.

Technically yes. There is no reason to not to add more though, it is possible to change your mind, and keeping your options open is very good. The one danger is if there are no spots available at that school.By third board, many of the schools already have their allotted spots filled. @MohawkArmyROTC or @clarksonarmy any insight on this?

I mean you can put down just 1 college, but there's no reason to limit yourself to just the 1.

@Dckc88 I asked the ROO there and he said so far only two people for Fall 2017 has been offer a scholarship. I'm not sure on how many slots each school usually have?

The allocation cutoff is 80% of the commission mission for that year group. Mosts schools never get close to that unless they are a national draw (eg: SMCs, Penn State, Notre Dame).

You can only have one school on the list, and if you get an offer it will be to that school. You can place up to 7 schools on your list, and I would list at least your top 3, as you may change your mind as to what college you want to attend.

My only input would be that my daughter thought she knew where she wanted to go, no question (literally none), up until the day the scholarship was awarded. Due to the rules of how you list your school choices, she had to list more than one because her #1 choice was out of state and private. Then she had to list one inside our state, and it was also private. So she then had to choose a public college, she picked two. The number 4 choice was not even on her radar, the instate private school (only nursing program in the state for Army ROTC scholarship purposes) so it was a mandatory list, but when she received the scholarship she talked to all of the ROO's and she went and visited the school nearby and it was clearly the best choice for her. I think it pained her to admit that, but now halfway through her first year she has zero regrets. My advice (as a Mom), is leave some options open. List that as your first choice, but put some others in there just in case. You have between now and the 3rd board to do some more research on each of those. I know you don't think you will change your mind between now and early April, but it happens more often than you know! She is very grateful that we actually made her apply to that school! She was going to list it and not apply as it was the most selective on her list.
