I was supposed to go to LDAC this summer (2013) but due to an injury I will be going to LDAC next summer (2014) and receive my commission at the end of the camp. Does anyone know how ascensions works for EOC commissionees. Will I still have a chance to compete for all the branches or only get to choose from those that are available. My original plan was to (hopefully) be accessed Active Duty. My top choice was going to be MI and my second choice AG. I was also going to volunteer for a branch detail (either IN or FA) since my PMS told me that as a male if I was selected for either MI or AG I was most likely going to be detailed to another branch anyway. Will I still have the opportunity to request those branches and volunteer for a branch detail as an EOC comissionee as I had originally planned? I am already aware of the fact that as an EOC comissionee I will still be a part of my current year's OML. Thanks.

The way it was explained to me last year is that they reserve a slice of the OML that represents the EOC commissioning guys. So, they would have the same spread of branches and the difficulty of getting a good branch would be about the same assuming you had graduated earlier.

Now, I would argue that a smaller sample size leaves less room for variables you can't control, such as everyone going EOC wanting the same branch as you. I would just stay the course and try to go after the branch that you want, because it's impossible to know for sure the exact number of slots they reserved for EOC guys.
