Starting a thread for results from the incoming October Board. Try to keep replies to just if you did/didn't get a scholarship, 3 or 4 year, and the university you plan on using it. Try to keep questions related to the board on a different or your own thread. Good luck everyone!

Oh... Well now I see why we need to keep two separate threads for the two😂 Thanks! Do you happen to know how many AROTC scholarships are being awarded?
No - The results should be posted soon. The 1st Board should have the fewest scholarships awarded compared to Boards 2 and 3 - as far as number of scholarships awarded - @Montana State Army ROTC and @MohawkArmyROTC would have that data. Good luck.

How many schooarships are traditionally awarded first round Army ROTC?
There will be about 200 for this round.

This is lower than normal because the number of applications for AROTC scholarships has been lower than normal the past couple of years.

Good luck everyone!

I'll just add that traditionally there were about 25% 4 year and 75% 3 year scholarships awarded for AROTC. for a year that had 3000 scholarships (which will be lower reportedly this year), then roughly 2250 were 3 year and 750 or so were 4 year. All decisions of course based on the needs of the service for this round - just info sharing. Traditionally mostly 4 years offered in round 1 / 3 but remember four years are also awarded in the other boards too. but who knows - the board can do as it wishes. Buckle in for what may be a few more months of waiting and good luck to all of this year's candidates. I too nearly broke the internet in refreshing the portals every few minutes until I finally just started checking it every 2 days.

This might be a deviation from the topic, curious if ROTC scholarships may be considered as an “honor” and entered in the “honors” section in Common App?

DS got the AFROTC one the 1st board, anxiously waiting for AROTC. He really likes the PMS at his top choice school listed on his AROTC portal.

Better to just send an email to your admissions rep for each specific college IMO.

Yes it’s a complete deviation from the topic. Next time please start a new thread.

your DS could reach out to the cadre at his top choice, share he received a scholarship, and ask if they have any pull with admissions or have any recommendations. For apps already filed your DS could call admissions to share these details. Annually there some kids who make this call to every university and imply that the one they are speaking with is their number one. Just all those considering doing that please be selective and act in a manner your future officer self would be proud of. It’s not all about bragging rights and it puts a bad taste i the Roo, PMS etc mouths. Some schools can and do help, some will not. I see no harm in noting In The app that he has a scholarship if it’s just added without fluff or pomposity.

My son got his 3 year on the 2nd board last year and was upgraded to 4 year after the 3rd board. The upgrade letter said he was one of the top 1000 candidates.

No portal refreshing here. I just watched the threads here and told him when to check!

He was interviewed by the army rotc detachment at his top choice, so they know he is applying. DS was deeply impressed with the PMS at that school. AFROTC is a crosstown though.
