Army ROTC Scholarship Notification

Goalie Dad,
Scholarship Notification Letter Dated 11/5. Received the letter 11/10?

Deadline for Acceptance 12/5
"We will confirm your attendance in May 2010. If at that time you need to change the school you choose to attend, we will take that change request into consideration."

DODMERB/Concorde Letter arrived 11/14 with 5 days to respond from receipt. "You must respond with your appointment dates within 5 days of receiving this letter either via email or by using the website." We scheduled it and responded with exam dates online. Online and in the letters we were provided the closest exam locations but there was an icon to change locations on the website.
Important reminders indicates "Complete all examinations within 6 weeks."

Thank you. That was very helpful. Especially the part about 6 weeks. Something I had not understood correctly.

Timing may still be an issue, but at least knowledge of what to expect will help us deal with 1000 miles of distance and limited transportation options for her at school.

Email should be in your inbasket... Thanks in advance...

Once again, Mr. Mullen is on top of his game... :thumb:

2 cycles of emails turned around in under 30 minutes. Incredible.

Definitely the person to get the correct answer from in short order for any question regarding DoDMERB medical exams, issues arising from the exams, and the process behind the exams. :thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb:

No need to ask anyone else.

My only question is, does this man ever sleep? :yllol:

ROTC Scholarship help!

I am popping into this conversation a little late, but I am still hoping someone here can help me and answer a few questions!

I have applied for the Army 4-year ROTC scholarship for nursing, I was boarded in the first round, and have moved to the second, which I think is held sometime in February.(?)

1. Does anyone know when I should hear back about the scholarship?

2. What are the chances of getting a scholarship if I was boarded in round one? (ACT:25, GPA:3.3, many leadership roles and academic/athletic achievements and awards)

3. In which round are the most scholarships awarded?

4. Does being one of the few female applicants for an Army ROTC scholarship give me an upper-hand, in addition to the fact that the Army has a specified number of nursing scholarships that they must award each year?

Please answer any of the above, as well as any information you see fit, it would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

You might be better to work with the current January 4, 2011 AROTC board thread. The results for the January board have been delayed to an unknown date. I know nothing about the nursing scholarship being on a different schedule than the regular scholarships. Good luck.

2. You chances decrease with each board as the quality and quantity of competitors increase. For later boards you will be competing against students that missed the cut for the service academies.

4. There are plenty of highly qualified female applicants. Gender will not give you an edge.
