What are the max and averages for the PFA? I found nothing on portal or on this forum. THX

So for the 4 year scholarship application, the max scores you can get are 50 pushups in 1 minute, 50 situps in one minute, and a 6:30 mile??? If you max these all out you get the full 150 points?

For a male taking the 1/1/1 PFT, that is correct.

I don't know if it was a mistake or you can do either, however, I just did my pt test today ( with two ROTC Instructors) and they had me do a 2 mile run. I know for that the max was 15 min and something for females.

If you were trying to do your documented PFA for the scholarship portal, then it was a mistake. The PFA is one mile. The PFA and the APFT are often confused but are different things.

There have been multiple threads on this in the past and the consensus when different ROO’s have weighed in is to make sure to do the 1 minute test, including a one mile for the run. You don’t want the board to have to split the numbers in half as it will be lower coming from a two minute pace. The PFA scoresheet should be in your Army scholarship application portal. Download it and ask a coach or PE teacher to oversee and sign the test. What you did do was have a great practice run for what the APFT will look like when you get on campus next year, so it still had value.

HS student applicants for the National Army ROTC scholarship have a choice between the PFA (sometimes called the PRT) and the APFT. However to activate the scholarship, an awardee still must pass the APFT in order to receive funds when college begins. Remember that all Army ROTC cadets are evaluated by the APFT and not the PFA through their four years in ROTC.

@clarksonarmy, one of our esteemed ROO's, opines on the pros and cons of each test on his AROTC blog here:
