Ok - Here is my question and thank you in advance again for your help. My son will be submitting his AROTC scholarship application with documents in next 10 days. Primarily just waiting to do his Fitness Test. After that, do we wait to hear from the Army to see if he can do an interview? If so, how long til we hear something? We want for him to have everything in to the Army for the October board consideration. Is that still possible based on if we submit application with transcript, ACT scores by Aug. 12th or so?

I guess if someone could just summarize the process for AFTER the application is formally submitted that is what I am asking.

Thank you.

I can't answer your questions regarding the process timeline, since your son's year group is using the new portal - but I can say, to a degree of certainty, that your son should be able to be Board 1 Ready as long all documents are in by Oct 7th, with the interview conducted no later than Oct. 18th. If you have everything done by then, he should meet the first board, Oct. 21st.

This link gives the complete boards timeline: Board dates 2013-2014 scholarship boards

I'd also recommend looking around that blog too - tons of great ROTC information for both you and your son.

Yeah get everything done (including interview) by the last week of September to be safe, and you'll be perfectly fine making first board! I'm applying as well, good luck to your son!

You're welcome! Best wishes as your son completes the application and has the interview!
