Army Sergeant Wins 2010 Grammy

Thu Feb 24, 12:55 pm ET

In most years, United States military personnel watch the Grammy Awards to root for their favorite artist, song or album. When the 2010 Grammys were awarded, things were a bit different.

A serving soldier was nominated in the Best Engineered Album, Classical category. And she won!

Staff Sgt. Brandie Lane is now serving at the United States Military Academy, West Point, and is the audio engineer for the West Point Band. Prior to her enlistment in the Army, she worked for the Dorian Sono Luminus record label. It was her work on the album "Quincy Porter: Complete Viola Works " that won her the Grammy.
