ARMY v. NAVY in Annapolos

Trust me I am extremely proud to have been a Marine. But I wear my USNA and Navy Basketball t shirts with equal pride. It was my college. My best friends have served and continue to serve in the Navy and Marine Corps. You haven’t earned the title of Marine yet. You haven’t earned the right to give other services a hard time yet. As you will see from the vets on this board we all love our respective services and give each other a hard time, but we have earned that right. It’s done tongue in cheek. It’s what vets do. Each service has its own nuances, mission and culture. If you hate the ocean, the Navy wouldn’t be a great fit probably. If you want to drive tanks, it’s the Army. There are tons of factors. For many candidates serving in any service is fine, for others, a specific one is a better fit. Stay motivated for the Marines, do your research on primary sites (ROTC and/or SA sites), and get in shape.
I apologize, I am 16 and do not know exactly what I am talking about.
Please continue to correct me where I am wrong.

I apologize to any people I may have offended, I promise to research more before I talk.

It’s okay to be excited about the Marines. It’s a great service. One that I am extremely proud of to have been a part of. There is a lot to be learned about the service and the various officer programs. There is a wealth of information on these forms and the primary sites. Take some time to research them and ask questions. We are happy to help on this site, but we do expect candidates to do their homework about these paths too.

Yes Sir, I have wanted to be a Marine since I was 12. My Godfather was a Marine and I always looked up to him. He is the reason why I want to be a Marine.

Its core capabilities are direct action, special reconnaissance and foreign internal defense. And honestly I don't know, I'm sorry for being arrogant.
I'm 16, thank you for pointing this out to me, hopefully everybody does this so I can learn more.
This is your best post! Be open to learning.
And, have some fun, Google “Marine Force Recon videos” to keep you motivated toward your goal. There are many unofficial and official clips out there, but those Marines are pretty darn “special.”

Thank you Sir I will

So, just to point this out as you are new... I served as a Marine Officer. And you are wrong on the Spec Ops... it’s called MARSOC. It is the newest Spec Ops out there and has only been around 10-15 years, but Google should be able to help you out with researching. And what does that have to do with my comment?
@NavyHoops, I was going to say: Brace him up until Army-Navy and have him come around to you 3X a day. But he is young and maybe now sees the error of his ways and own lack of knowlege. So, let him brace up until kick- off today against UH. He'll be back, I hope, better informed on SA admissions and the services in general. It's a growth process for all youth. Beat Houston!

Oh, Shoot I'm sorry.
You had the proper intention behind the words, which is what counts. When women were a lot scarcer in the ranks, I got a lot of “Sirrrr...uhMA’AMs.”

Plebes don’t brace up anymore! And may the team show up today! It seems to be an every other game thing! Hopefully they find some consistency today and play well. They have the tough part of their conf schedule ahead. Oh I expect today to be a shoot out! Be fun to watch, but guessing it’s gonna be a 400-500 yards of offense possibly for both teams .

Many of us have posted here for years, some are more transient, but the culture here is a “joint forces family.” I do not know Hoops personally, but I respect her standing as a veteran Marine officer, USNA grad and wise counselor.

I consider her a trusted and appreciated shipmate here on SAF, the highest praise a Navy person can bestow.

Yes Ma'am.
