AROTC 2nd Board notifications

The board results should be on or about Thursday of this week. If anyone has been contacted, it was because someone did not follow policy. The draft selections for scholarship are currently under review, however they are not official yet. Do not take an early notification as a guaranteed offer as some results may change prior to the official announcement.

Once the results are published, the dashboard will be updated, and you most likely will be contacted by the ROOs of the schools that received an offer to.
 
Anyone received a board date? My ROO called me and told me to check my dashboard. Wouldn't me anything else for the obvious.

Has anyone's status changed? I'm doubting he would have called me if I got passed over, so I'm guessing they just haven't been updated yet. But I want to confirm that since you never know. So... anyone's portal changed?

Don't worry! Some ROO's contact, some don't, has nothing to do with the applicant just whether or not that is their practice. My daughter proactively contacted schools on her list and talked to three of the four, no one reached out to her during the process. After the results she did get contacted. My daughter's schools all followed the rules last year and the day after her portal updated is when her phone started ringing from two of the schools on her list and the other option never did call. And FYI if he gets his scholarship this board he will have approximately 30 days to accept the scholarship to a specific school, however he can always transfer the scholarship later if he doesn't get in it that school, just no guarantees on the transfer. As of just now, no. We also got an early phone call, but son didn't quite understand, so waiting to see what is really up. Plus don't want to throw any "early notifiers" under the bus.

Contact admissions to see if they offer any fly-in 'scholarships' They combine them with weekend visits. Some will combine with a single day visit program but DS was able to do a few where he flew in the day before and he was put up with a Cadet with same degree plan and he went to classes with the cadet. It was a real great experience. Had he gotten a 4 year he might have picked one of the fly-ins he visited that put him up in dorms, feed him and they either booked his flight or reimbursed us for the flight. If we didn't ask about those options he would not have gotten to visit several great schools. It is funny though that his favorite school he accidentally made the visit during a couple weeks my cousin took him to several colleges in AL and GA. He was supposed to be going to Auburn in Auburn since it has NROTC and AROTC but he accidentally made the appt with Auburn in Montgomery which he wasn't even on his radar till he got there and clicked with the Cadre. If you have family they can stay with and visit several colleges surrounding
them.

Back again- I sent an email to the gentleman that received an email saying all results are supposed to be posted by Thursday morning and he said they've been manually entering results since Monday, and will conclude for this board Wednesday evening/Thursday morning. Anyone's board been updated yet?
 
Wednesday at 1400...was not there this morning but is there now: 3 Year Winner. (I am so happy for my #3--and his first choice school too). For anyone reading this, my friend whose son is also applying has a 4-Year Winner on this 2nd board.

My son's updated status changed from 'Boarded' to 'Winner' about 45 minutes ago. He was offered 4 year scholarships to his top 3 'plan B' schools. Hooray! Now just waiting to see if he is offered appointments to USAFA or USMA as those are dream schools.
 
My DS was notified January 30, 2017 with a 4 year AFROTC scholarship! Very exciting! Now, we are waiting on schools. I called his first choice, they said it didn't matter that we still had to wait in the pool of applicants for decision to get in. So, we will wait! :)
 
I got a 3 year. Sigh... I needed a 4 year. Why did I get a 3 year instead of a 4 year.
 
Alpha, do not be sad. Be happy. Celebrate for a minute or two. You can work with your college's for financial aid office for that first year. There are so many pathways. Do not be discouraged. Be empowered. Really. Congratulations.
