AROTC 3rd Board...Place to Wait

I almost posted earlier today that I hear crickets on this board... it's definitely much quieter on the forum than the first two boards were. DS also gave me his sign on info. He knows I would check more than he does. :) Hopefully within a week or week and half, we'll know more than we do today!

I have no idea why people are being this quiet, on the 2nd board everybody couldn't stop talking. I'm guessing once it gets closer to the time we'll hear more

Like Tom Petty sang, "the waiting is the hardest part"! DS and I are both anxious to hear about 3rd board. We live in the northeast, but he really wants to go west or south to school. I was a 4-year scholarship cadet (1984-1988) and am surprised how much the process has changed. As I recall, your app wasn't school specific. You got the scholarship, which was good at any host institution you wanted to attend. You could even do your ROTC requirements at another school closeby if your chosen college did not host.

The waiting is awful!!!! So, are we looking at maybe sometime next week? Or more like the week after or later?

My guess will be that people will see portal changes at the end of next week. Mine changed on a Friday afternoon at around 2 PM central time a little over 3 weeks after the 2nd board. Id find something to do in the meantime to keep you busy so you don't stress yourself out too much

Another thing to add is that I opted to receive the text message alerts when there was a change in my status, and I got text alerts all throughout the process for different things, but I did not get one when my status changed to winner, so make sure to periodically check rather than simply waiting for a text, as I didn't get one

DS had his exam on 3/4 for West Point ( yes we are behind the 8 ball, but he hasn't received the sorry you aren't in letter yet). It is currently "under review" for the last week or so. It did finally change to data entry on Monday. One step closer, or farther if there is DQ or remedials to deal with.
Turtllerunner, have you already gone through DODMERB?

Posting on here did help me with the waiting; it helps to talk to other people who are in the same boat. If anyone is curious about anything feel free to PM me

It's 0554hrs and a voice woke me saying..."If you check-it, they will update it". Maybe I saw "Field of Dreams" one too many times but I feel a strong sense that today is the day. Good or not-so-good. Oh, I did check and nothing yest but the day is still young. Who's with me?

We will check but not feeling optimistic today. ...still boarded...

My DS and I got a very late start on the ROTC scholarship process, he has been very focused on academies. However, he wants ROTC as an option in case he decided attend a civilian school. He was only eligible for third board and interviewed with a Lt. Col at one of our state universities about a month ago. I have a few questions; when was third board, what types of scholarships are still available, and how will a candidate be notified? I understand that these are pretty simplistic questions, but as I said, we are playing catchup. Good luck to all those that aspire for something so great.

SNF6, the 3rd board was on March 9th. There should still be 4 year scholarships left along with 3 year scholarships (there are definitely 3 year scholarships). Winners will first see a change in their status on the application site, and you will get a letter in the mail from Cadet Command shortly after.

Well....looks like I was right and wrong at the same time. It appears notices came out today but for Navy....not Army :-(. Congrat's to those who received an NROTC award.
