AROTC 3rd Board...Place to Wait

The Air Force board sent out an e-mail simultaneous with their posting of the board results...will Army do something similar?
 
My DS was selected for a 4 yr AROTC scholarship off of the 2nd AROTC Board.

He did NOT receive an email notifying him. Had to log in and go to the correct page/tab on his AROTC Portal
 
My DD also won a AROTC scholarship on 2nd board. She never received an email. She checked her application portal "selection status" tab. She did receive emails a few days later from each of her school choices. Good Luck to everyone. The 2nd board results came out around noon Pacific time.
 
The waiting is awful... DS has been accepted into his top school picks and we are awaiting ROTC information. As I stated the last time I posted- he will be attending NCSU either way. However, from Illinois, this scholarship would be a God send and he has talked about ROTC and the U.S. Army since he was 10. This is his dream and of course he still intends to be active in ROTC without a scholarship. Here is hoping we hear something today!

Do you think the results will be updated on the ROTC site? If it still says boarded...is that the kiss of death?
 
Don't know...I would imagine the status would have switched pretty quickly, but I'm not certain.

I would also say that "kiss of death" is probably not a good description (not trying to be harsh here). There are still likely to be more scholarship offers made. I expect every school to have an additional 3 year offer they will be able to make. There may also be some JROTC and West Point non select offers made. And there will likely be campus offers to be made next fall and spring. This is not the end, it's the time to move to phase 2 of the operation.
 
My friend (does not use the forum) just called me saying he got an email right now stating that he will be receiving the scholarship to UCLA. He just checked his portal, and it still just says boarded so idk what to say to you guys.

He was definitely 3rd board though

Sorry for the "kiss of death" comment and no I did not find your response harsh at all. Trying to learn as I go and your input is greatly appreciated. Will have to check DS application site (of course he has a track meet tonight, so that will be a painful wait). Can you offer guidance related to "phase 2" as you described it...

Not sure, but if you were already logged into the portal when the update was made, you may need to refresh your screen -- or log out and log back in. Best wishes to all
