Congrats to all who received info today!! Great job!! We still say boarded and still waiting on an answer from USMA...!!

Congratulations to all the 3rd Board Winners! (and 2nd and 1st).
Exciting times, glad to see the thread light up. Nice touch Stowie J., good job after some up and downs on the forum. Sgt. Lee sounds like he will do well if enroll in ROTC and may yet pull a scholarship.

Hard copies of paperwork will be in mail with directions. 30 days to respond with your school choice. Make sure you check the right box (ha ha). Remember all to get moving quickly on your DODMERB paperwork and get your medicals together in case needed. You should definitely talk with your parents when filling out the DODMERB forms, be specific and do not guess or speculate.

You will get a letter in snail mail. You will need to make your school selection and mail or fax back. If you haven't already started you DoDmerb process...you can log into DoDmets.com to schedule your physical, eye exam. DoDmets then sends over information to DoDmerb. Then the waiting starts again!!!!! DoDmerb can either medically qualifiy, remedial requested, or medically disqualify you. If medically DQ you then have to wait more to see if they will waive you. My DD process took about 2 1/2 months to get her waiver approved for AROTC. Now we are waiting to hear if AFROTC will waive her. MORE WAITING!!!!

So I got the scholarship- now what do I do?

You wait until you receive the official letter in the mail, should arrive in a few days. Once you receive the letter it will explain the next steps. First you will have 30 days from the date of the letter to accept the scholarship and check the box for which school you are accepting.

Then you wait again, you will then get information for your Dodmerb Physical, just follow the instructions.

Then you wait again to see if you are found medically qualified.

Then you wait again, you may start getting some information from your new Battalion with a pile of forms that will need to be completed.

Then you wait again until you head to school, your battalion may have an orientation before school starts, they will let you know.

Then your done waiting and school starts and you begin ROTC.

Once you make your decision on the school and send in your acceptance, you might want to contact the ROO, they will be able to fill you in on anything you need to be doing.

Oh, and start working out, be ready to pass the APFT on the first day.

But for real, there's no button to check that says "accept offer."

On another note, the portal locked me out and said I already have an active session associated to my username. Now the hour long waiting game to get back into the portal x _x

There is no accept button on the portal, you wait for the letter to arrive, there will be a form where you check a box to accept the scholarship the the school you choose, then you send it back to Cadet Command.

If I remember correctly....you do not have to wait for the DoDmerb paperwork to start the process. Go to Dodmet.com website. All medical forms and contact numbers for you physical is there. Start process ASAP!!

Thanks Wilco. My DS is off-site at a Junior Statesmen meeting today and was pretty disappointed at the news but I think it has also lit a fire in his belly that it's really time to focus even more so on the academics. His wrestling season just wound-down so he's been training at night with a guy who is doing nothing but working to max the APFT (he's at 295 now). Best of luck to everyone else and we'll all get to gold one way or the other.

SgtLee sorry to hear that DS wasn't selected. Did you do the whole log out and log back in trick? DS originally still said boarded but when I had him log out and go back in it changed. Best of luck to your son!

I'm curious to see the numbers from the three boards, like the OML and 3 vs 4 year recipients... Don't know that the ARMY will release all of that, but it would be nice to know.

Congrats to those that heard today! My suggestion if you start a thread of "winners" is that you include what school you have chosen to attend. I think in the ones I saw previously for this year's winners you guys listed all the schools you were awarded to. I know for me, last year, it was helpful to know what other students chose the school my DS did so that I was able to connect with fellow parents. Just a suggestion!

They will release the number of scholarships given but that will be about it. You won't ever see the Scholarship OML.

In fact, in 3 1/2 years when your going through accessions and branching, you will never see the OML from that process either.

In an earlier thread, someone quoted figures that a PMS had told him. Does that mean that the guy broke a rule? Do the PMS s have access to it, or did the guy just make it up?

3 year AD to Stephen F Austin for nursing. WOOOOOHOOOO!! Axe Em Jacks!
I was just reading through your first round board post, about being worried they gave away all 100 slots. Glad to know it all turned out great :D

DD still boarded. :(

Just curious, did anyone "tweak" their declared major in hopes that it would improve their chances of getting a scholarship?
